I am a freshman and I ran an 18:40 5k on almost no training because I fractured my hip. Now im training for the mile and I want to know what would be a good time

At least 20 seconds faster than what Jordan Hasay ran as a freshman.
5:30+ Fat a$$
5:15-20 You still suck
5:10 Mediocre
5:00 Average
4:55 Above the rest
4:45- 50 Pretty Good
4:35-4:40 Damn solid for a frosh
4:30 and below Prodigee
5:30
A good, but not great, time for a freshman (14 yrs old) with 18-minute 5k speed would be 5:15-5:30.
I ran 5:11 as a freshman. I didn't train much as a freshman. After a summer of good training and another season of cross I ran 4:36 my sophomore year. I think a good goal would to break 5:00.
Fennell is that you?
Frosh 4:50
Soph 4:40
Jun 4:30
Sen 4:20
I am interpretting "Good" as you want to be competitive but not a state champion. Realistic times, not far fetched. Times anyone (or anyone with natural talent) can achieve with the proper training.
Frosh: 4:55
Soph: 4:35
Junior: 4:26
Senior: 4:20
Good luck.
what would be proper training the track coach at my school is really just the sprints coach. I wish my xc coach would coach

oh no. you got me.
whats ur problem I just need advice and Im never gonna be state champ
The boy who won our 8th grade county champs ran 4:5x at the county meet. He's also feeding into the high school that just won XC States, so they have a decent program. The top miler from my school ran about 5:10 and finished 4th or 5th in the county.
brendan stop making so many damn threads, its annoying. Right now all you need to do is run and enjoy it, once you drop a TON of time off of your 5k or mile then i'd start worrying about it as much as you are. Until then, use the search function to look at old training threads, theres endless info on this site
3:53 is decent for any high school boy i heard
youre f***in stupid no hs kid can break 4 go f*** yourself
No one has ever broken 4:00 in a 1600m race
