Had to take 5 weeks off this summer due to injury and now am curious about race pacing for cross country this fall. Should I run at the pace I currently can hold for 8k, assuming that I'll get faster as fitness improves Or, should I start at my 8k pace that is for end of season and just try to maintain it as long as possible. I'm leaning to the latter but my coach is wanting the former. What do you all think?
