Wow...just WOW!

That mother needs to control her child.
Yeah, since I became a dad I am even more vigilant than before. Anyone who would do something like that to my wife or kid would get ax handle workout. (They were at WalMart, right?)
Something happen like that and it would be my mug on the local news.
Little rug rat had it coming. The old fart had to do what he had to do. God bless him. I can't imagine anyone taking the side of that little piece of shit kid.

A mother cannot control a 2 year old, no mother can.
A mother can comfort, and pay attention to her child and that is all.
This man, should go to jail for a good long time for slapping a 2 year old repeatedly.
The mother should have consideration for when her child is bothering others; and remove it from the store until it has calmed down.
Not to defend the guy at all, but our society is one of the worst in the world for noisy kids...parents leave them to out volume the television with their cries, and parents who should not have children get seemingly a care less attitude to their children being overly loud in public.
Every time I travel to Europe I get amazed at how better behaved the children are there.

Don't worry, if your kid or wife act up, I won't touch them, I'll just sneak up and sucker punch you and then stomp on your convulsing skull.
I'm sure that's not the whole story, i can't even count on both hands how many times i want to slap a kid and/or their mother everyday for something like this.
Having kids should involve a standardized test.
that is so cool...
I for one am shocked, SHOCKED that this happened.....
...in a Wal-Mart in Georgia.
I would have guessed a Piggly-Wiggly in Alabama.

That's because they haven't been infected with PC bullshit as badly as Americans. The kind of PC bullshit that claims no mother can control a 2 yr old. I'd hate to be around your kids if you have that kind of attitude. Wimp. We've been able to control our kids without having to resort to the stick either.
Dear "Wimps,"
The anger, hate and immaturity (not to mention the lack of intelligence) you display; clearly prove that a parent cannot control a 2 year old child.
It is a plain fact, you cannot "control" a 2 year old. You can comfort it, attempt to meet it's needs, but you cannot control it.
I want you to think about it logically, if you can get out of your moronic mindset, and remember the last time you took care of a 2 year old. Ever notice that healthy moms when their "terrible 2 year old" is losing it, attempt to meet the child's needs, comfort it, and if it cannot calm down they take it out of the situation so as not to bother others.
The only way you can control a 2 year old is to tape its mouth shut and bind its arms and legs.
You probably think that is okay.
One can control the situation, by comforting the child, attempting to meet its needs (anyone who has had a 2 year old knows that at times they are just on automatic), and if they are unable to calm down for a while, you remove yourself and them from the situation so as to not bother others.
I pity any human beings that have the mis-fortune to be your children.
And as to your use of the term "PC/Politically Correct.
It, and the term "Liberal" are not automatic negatives as you so ignorantly seem to believe. Clearly you have fallen victim to those in the media who have sought to capitalize on immature non-thinking individuals such as yourself.
To put it in terms you will understand, the right wing media has basically been your ass toy.
Uhm. People, 2 year olds have tantrums. Trust me every single one of you had a tantrum in a public place. Hopefully no strangers picked you up an slapped you. (Although I am beginning to think some of you were dropped on your head).
And yes, even European kids have tantrums. It is developmentally normal for kids this age to act out their frustrations.

Yep, 2 year olds have tantrums; ergo they cannot be "controlled."
And yep, European kids have tantrums, but generally, they are not as loud -- because Europeans do not use the TV to babysit their children, and Europeans generally do not have the volume as loud on the TV. Ergo, Europeans generally give their children more attention.
These are generalizations, meaning they are generally true. I have been traveling to, and making extended stays in Europe since 1977... And have mostly been amazed by how much calmer Euro-kids are...however I have noticed that eith the advent of cable/satellite tv in Europe, that that has started to change...the kids are getting louder.

Yep. It's not like this guy was at a nice restaurant having a $100 dinner and the couple next to him ruined his expensive meal by bringing a crying baby. He was at a freaking Wal-Mart. Certainly not an otherwise enjoyable shopping experience ruined.
The girl got off easy -- he was going to have her fight a pitbull in his backyard.
I have to say, because I have a two year old, that the idea that violence or hard talk can control the tantrum is nonsense. That only makes it more extreme. What you have to do is distract them, take them away from the scene if in public, and even better, you can avoid a lot of the tantrums just by anticipating their root causes: hunger, lack of sleep, etc. We know that the tantrum will come on near dinner time if we miss the late afternoon snack. The ones in the middle of the night are tough, but food, when they calm down enough to eat it, and drink always help.

Friend, if your wife ever acted up with me I'd take a huge steaming dump on her head.
You'd really beat down a retiree? That's as stupid as slapping a toddler.

Notice the lack of white face in the arraignment. Is this racism or do black really commit more crimes than whites?
