Most short term studies say that doing intervals at 90% of vo2max or going over 80% of vo2max for continuous runs is damaging for the immune system but then i read this:
"Effect of a High-Intensity Exercise Training on the Metabolism and Function of Macrophages and Lymphocytes of Walker 256 Tumor–Bearing Rats"
I know we are not rats but rats are genetically very identical to us.
This one says that rats with a tumor lived up to three times longer if they exercised at 85% of vo2max (90% mhr) for 30 minutes a day.
What do you guys think happens if we do intervalwork or steady runs every day. Immunosuppression wearing us down or compensation for the immunosuppression helping us in the long run.
