a careful review of linguistics and a studious translation from the Kenyan Language to English yields the following: Asbel Kiprop = Alan Webb.
Well, on the other hand, maybe he couldn't handle the rounds for whatever reason this year.

Kiprop won olympic gold in his first olympics. No way is he Alan Webb.
Asbel Kiprop is my favourite runner to watch because of the beauty of his running style.
Kiprop runs with the grace of a gangly, dorky kid but at a speed a gangly, dorky kid could only dream of, and that why I love him.
Asbel lost 1500m due to over-confidence. He thought himself too untouchable and wanted to do a "Usain Bolt" in the last 200m. But by the time he began kicking, the race was over!! Last year at the Olympics, he did run from the front. This year he ran from the back. He forgets that you have not won a race until you cross the line first. Hopefully he has learned a lesson once for all. As for the 800m, he was drained mentally due to his failure to win the 1500m. His mind was elsewhere not in the running. I doubt he will feature in any more races this year. Inspite of his shortcomings, Kiprob is the most gifted athlete we have had in recent years and great fun to watch.

He was saving himself.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
