Sorry to disappoint, but your assessment of me is dead wrong.
Well then, my apologies. The Oregon issues have several root causes. 1) Nike and its influence at Oregon. 2) Galen Rupp and his unique road to competing at Oregon and his coaching arrangement with Salazar. 3) Vin's ability to stack rosters with current scholarship limits. 4) Oregon's success.
In my mind, most is petty jealousy, or gross exaggerations of the facts. These are the typical personal attacks, those attacking Rupp for the way he ties his shoes, those making ridiculous, unsubstantiated claims, and those passing on fourth hand, ultimately false, information.
On the other hand, there are others with legitimate questions about issues with valid points on both sides including 1) should an athlete have a private coach as their primary coach while running at a college; 2) what should the influence of a corporation/individual be on a school's athletic department, and 3) Are loaded rosters like Oregon's best for developing talent or are they best for winning champsionships while possibly not begin the best for the individual improvement of each athlete.
