Actually, it's great these days for some solid info and interviews you won't get anywhere, especially here. But for current results, eh, no. Unless you go to their website.
As for L.A. hosting the Olys. No. I live here. The city was already sliding badly in '84. People forget lazy ass Tom Bradley told the IOC NOT to consider L.A. All he did was sit back and hide, while the organizers did a bang up job. Then in the tradition of Coleman Young or other "urban" mayors, Bradley (with help from the media) stood around and acted as if he were the major player in the Games' success.
The city now is a third world dump in most areas, thanks to govt sanctioned illegals pouring in. In case you haven't realized it, the US government has elected a new people. People easily satisfied with lowbrow work and social services. No threat to the types really running the show in DC with their lobby(s) and media control. These are the folks sitting in Beverly Hills or Encino, self deceptive to the end, bragging to each other behind the scenes while publicly scoffing at suggestions of their perfidy. Corporations could probably put on a good show and hide the truth about the town, but considering how filthy and crowded it is here, San Diego would be a better, cleaner choice. Our current mayor has a double digit IQ and is merely an arm that holds a rubber stamp for whatever Eli Broad and his cronies want done. One cringes at the possibilities of the blunders he might commit with the Games here - or at any follow up mayor after this clown, since all that will in the mayor's office from here on out are clones of this piece of snake dung.
