I see that a Greek woman was DQ'd, and could not find out why, seems very odd. Cut the course? Taking aid from someone other than the aid station?

I think she pushed the leader down with 200 m to go.
Her chip came off.
Took unauthorized fluids.
Was found to have a weiner
She finished the race with a hard-on!
The DQ was there to provide frozed treats following the competition.
On the TV footage on NBC, one of the top women missed her bottle and someone came running up to her with the bottle and handed it to her.
Is that legal?
Could coaches hand runners water bottles?

Easiest way to find the answer would be to check the actual rule book:
http://www.iaaf.org/mm/Document/imported/42192.pdfRule 240 8e):
"An athlete who collects refreshment from a place other than the refreshment stations renders himself liable to disqualification."
(And para d is relevant as well.)
Key word there is "himself" so for the women the rule does not apply.
How often does someone actually get a dq for breaking that rule?
I don't think she was DQ and the violation was on TV.
Running with headphones?
I think she bought the bib off of ebay...

That was Ozaki. The men's steeplechase national record holder ran after her, off the course, and got it to her right before the end of the aid station. I remember the same thing happening in the men's marathon in Athens with a Moroccan.

I have to admit, this made me giggle like a little girl.
It was good, as well as the 200M comment...
Did you giggle and squeal during your first pony ride?

POD if not for the typo.
This was posted on a more knowledgeable forum:
"Magdalini Gazea DQ for 240.8e.
Think that means she was disqualified for collecting refreshments from somewhere other than the official feed tables."

They found out she was actually from Spain.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
