Will Bolt Run 9.49 and 18.99 before he retires ? what do you think ?

9.49 on a perfect day, maybe.
18.99, most likely not.
as stupid as it seems to doubt him at this point I think in berlin we finally saw what is close to the limit of his abilities (and the limit of the abilities of all humans in history)
I think hell set another record in at least one of those events but id be surprised if its faster than 9.55 or 19:15
anythings possible but there was no easing up in berlin
9.49 maybe in zurich or next year since 9.58 (0.9) equals to 9.53 (+2.0) by IAAF (+2.0 = 0.10 advantage)
18.99 its too unreal to believe it true NOW,we will see.. anyway 19.19 (-0.3) equals to 19.09-19.08 (+2.0) but I prefer not thinking about it!
plus he said he was not on top form... thats scary, since breaking 20 is still a really really great preformance ( only 3 or 4 guys (elite class) in the berlin final had broken it before the start)
18.99 should be easier to reach than 9.49. You get a running start for the 2nd 100.

It's scary to even admit this, but yes, I beleive he can run both those times. I think that within 5-6 years we will see it and probably sooner. I remember thinking that when Johnson ran the 19.32 that I would never see anyone else run that fast in my life (and I was only 20). Now I have seen it twice by someone who is still developing. He is still so young!
Mark my words here. We will see it. And the note about the wind makes sense, too! If her get 2.0 or close, that will help a ton!
Bolt's future is a positive drug test, scandal and shame when it turns out he did not know that his coaches were feeding him custom PEDS.
depends entirely on the next generation of PEDs.
i think he'll bearly go sub 9, prob 8.9.
but he will go well under 19. im think more like 18.7
With a little more wind and running through the line he's damn near 19 flat. Plus he said he was a little tired for the race. Plus he was injured for part of this year.
I believe he is faster than what he is showing us, probably runs faster at practice, and spends most his time perfecting his pacing so he can race just .1 faster every race to prolong his career. The guy was rated 3rd most popular athlete.
During the olympics he realized he was ahead of schedule and had to slow down during the 100m
When he ran the 19.19 at Berlin, when he saw it on the clock you could see fear in his eyes. His couch will probably beat him becuase the goal was in the 19.25 range
UB was bushed at end of his 200, still not in tip top condition .
Hell he may run those before the end of the year.
I think he has a shot at both, with slightly better shot at the 18.99. The 18.99 will require:
1. A legal tailwind
2. More 200/400 type training (ala Michael Johnson)
3. Uninterrupted, injury free training.
4. Just a little luck.
Think about it, he has got 0.50 on MJ in the 100m. With MJ type strength, he runs 19.32-2*.50 = 18.32! I don't see him coming anywhere close to that, but I predict an 18.9x before he retires.
official splits:
atlanta MJ: 10.12 + 9.188 = 19.32
berlin bolt: 9.92 + 9.27 = 19.19
still, second johnson 100 meters are the FASTEST by a human.
bolt need to improve his speed endurance as MJ has already pointed out.
Frederick you are wrong. They had a +0.9 wind in the 100m. It was a legal TAILWIND, so your conversion to 9.53 is incorrect. I've seen that mistake on this site more times than I can recall. It was a tailwind.

Ok I will explain it to you:
Iaaf says (+2.0 TAILWIND=1.0 seconds advantage)ok?
therefore
(+2.0 TAILWIND)-(+0.9 TAILWIND (in berlin as I wrote))= +1,1 TAILWIND therefore 0.5 seconds of advantage therefore 9.58-0,5 = 9.53
0,10 and 0,05 advantage, not 1,0 and 0,5 of course you know what I meant.

Not sure about the 9.49 but 18.99 is in the bag.
I would never have said so 3 years ago but now I think there is a good chance he can get both of those times.
