you're correct. sadly we have to face facts about other up-and-coming athletes as well. that's right - elijah greer. let's take a look at some statistics. 800 Meters 2006 Indoor 9th Grade 2:05.2 2006 Outdoor 9th Grade 2:01.6 2007 Outdoor 10th Grade 1:51.49a 2008 Indoor 11th Grade 1:52.66a 2008 Outdoor 11th Grade 1:47.68a 2009 Outdoor 12th Grade 1:48.97a okay, 2:05 as a freshman. i can buy that. it's questionable, but i can buy it. i ran 2:06 in my first year of running and i sort of look like elijah greer. if it had been a 2:02, though... and then we get to 2:01.6. woah. HOLD THE PHONE. 2:01.6 from 2:05.2? that is 3.6 seconds in the course of a few MONTHS! that's absolutely insane. i would question the validity of the time itself but we all know high school meets have the most legitimate timing systems. i would also comment on whether his time was wind-aided, but his willowy figure would be buffeted in the wind like a piece of iceberg lettuce in one of those salad spinners. it's pretty clear he would just float away given a good gust. i just can't stand for this sort of nonsense any more. i'm not even going to begin examining the physique differences as he's aged. other posters in this thread have clearly refuted the idea that you gain muscle as you grow older - i see no need to delve further. so sayeth the epo pope - elijah greer dopes. |

wtf, of course she is, plus her coach is a confessed to doping at the dubin inquiry. |

The first thing I thought when I saw her run that 10.85 is she's on somthing. Any world class athlete could be doping. Keep in mind science will always be ahead of the drug tests |

I'm not going to weigh in on whether or not Jeter is doped, but the person who "never heard of her before" has only himself to blame. She was a bronze medalist in the 100 at the 2007 World Championships and, like about four other women in that very tight race, would have been picked as the winner by a bunch of laymen (and women) asked to look at the finish photo. |

She has the upper body of an NFL defensive back. Seriously. |

When you say that "the effort in being a doper and the high probability of being caught is just not worth it," I applaud the sentiment but question the validity. If an athlete cannot reach the top clean, but can reach it with drugs, what is he or she really risking in taking drugs? If he/she doesn't get caught, fame and fortune await. If he/she does get caught, all that happens is a two year suspension. So what? Without the drugs the athlete wouldn't have done anything major anyways. Once caught, it's deny, deny, deny and see you in two seasons. |

How rude. Merlene Ottey was clean all the way. Her name was cleared from that stupid accusation. Grow up and know facts before you speak. Pleaseeeeee!!! |

Maggie Vessey, Christine Wurth-Thomas, Kara Goucher anyone? Oh no, they're white and American. They get a pass. |

Jeter totally reminds me of Kelli White. Acne, deep voice, and domination. Kelli White caught muscle injuries in 2003 just as Carmelita Jeter did as U.S. champs. I want to say White ran 10.84w at the adidas meet that year with a wrap on her leg. White went on to win worlds at 100 and 200m. Jeter should have won this year but she ran terrible technically. Her words on the iaaf site were simply "I got left in the blocks." |

All the little girly boys here have commented on something they have no facts on. Figures why runners are disdained by other sports and made fun of and also why T&F is a diminishing sport. Women gossip less than this. But again we are talking little girly boys. |

Damn. I'm American, but it's hard to believe that's a clean performance. And it's not about race; our 1500 crop and Al Sal's group are fairly suspicious. But until Kara makes a comeback at 35, is ripped to shreds and runs a 29:40 10k, she is not as conspicuous as Jeter. |

I don't think she's clean But do you think the Jamaicans are somehow unbeatable? Bolt may be unbeatable. But all the others are quite beatable. |

Jeter apes and growls like Symmonds does. You can see the roid effects in their behaviors. It's so obvious she is doped too. |

Smifson I agree totally. 10.67 into a headwind (the fastest time EVER into a headwind by ANY female) is incredible and I'm happy for Carmelita Jeter :) !!!!!!!!!! If the Shelly-Ann Fraser and Kerron Stewart are clean so is Carmelita Jeter. Get the World Record Carmelita Go, Go, Go GO! It was nice to see the Jamaicans not upset- Shelly even hugged Carmelita- at how Carmelita soundly defeated them with her run. |
