Well do you wear socks with your spikes or your racing flats? Why or why not? If you don't, isn't there the friction of the shoe against your toe/feet..

I did all through high school and three years of college. Reason I stopped is my socks tend to get sweaty during hot outdoor track meets, the layer of fabric between foot, and shoe rubs. I wear under armor running socks, not cold gear ones or anything just regular ones. Anyways, the first lap of an 800 last outdoor season on a really hot day i felt the blister growing on the pad of my foot. The second lap it ripped open, I don't remember the last 100m of the race, I just blacked out the home stretch. After I took my spikes off I had a huge blister on the pad of my foot, about 2" diameter. I haven't worn socks since, and haven't gotten a blister on the pad of my foot since.
No, I've always liked the feel...
I never wear socks while racing and most workouts. One of my college track seasons was ruined by a blister after running a 5K on the track, yes it was that bad, right through to the flesh.
The friction is sooo bad, I get blisters every time wearing socks with spikes or road flats.
I've tried most socks like Thorlos, good for regular runs, but nothing does it for me like racing sockless. I always get a better fit without wearing socks.
If anyone can recommend socks for people who get really hot feet, I'll give em a try.
I don't get it. Why would you wear socks?
Socks do wick away sweat better none, and the smell of my shoes after a few runs with no socks is quite bad, I'm sure there's some bacteria build up in them also. I notice a light film of dead skin on the sockliner overtime, pretty gross stuff.
For regular runs socks are more comfortable for me, especially cushioned ones like Thorlo. But whenever the pace picks up on hard surfaces and I start running on my toes more, the heat and friction is unbearable.
I should of stated earlier that the heat, friction, and pain only occurs underneathe my foot. Funny enough socks do provide protection on top of my foot, where seams of the upper are located, although it's not that much of an issue.
This is why I like(training runs)socks and dislike(workouts/racing) socks.
