Anyone see Tiger on Sunday? What are the chances he is on something? He used to be pretty scrawny 10 years ago and look at him now. The guy is thick!

There have been stories of him benching 300+ since he came out on the tour. I wouldn't put it past his crazy dad to make him juice, but I would just as soon suspect that his crazy dad made him lift from the time he was 12.
the guy who kicked his ass was smoking the whole time, Tiger should try that
you dumb f***s... explain to me the benefits of a golfer on juice????
im just curious
he really wasn't that much scrawnier back in 1997. You can google pictures from the 97 Masters pretty easily. He wore a lot of looser fitting shirts back then.
He's probably a little bigger now, more cut, but if he's been on the juice for the last 10 years, he should probably find a different juice.
The PGA has no drug testing, and doesn't feel like it's an issue. I'm 5' 10" and 160 pounds. I can hit it 300 yards because of skill, balance, and practice, not because I can bench a yugo. (my point being, the diminishing return of juicing as a golfer)
But, the shot from behind him as he walked to the practice green right before his tee time, HOLY CRAP! Dude is a beast.

Length. The longer you drive the ball off the tee, the shorter your approach shots to the green. Being able to hit into the firm/fast greens that the PGA plays on with a PW vs. a 5 iron is a huge advantage. It's also an advantage is be very strong when hitting out of deep rough. You need to muscle the club head through the grass without it slowing down or turning.
Just watch, in the next 10 years you are going to see a transformation in the young players. They are all going to be very athletic, very strong golfers who can drive the ball a mile.
some of the people on this forum are so pathetic. I guess it\'s much easier to trash a talent than to respect it. Go run somewhere and for goodness sake go get yourself some \"juice\" so you can stop whinning about others accomplishments. Geeesh!
Nike wouldn't allow one of its sponsored athletes to juice.

Best response so far!
Never, not ever, vitamin supplements you know, just ask Alberto.
Of course he's on something, he's starting to look like a pro wrestler.

a growth hormone will enhance visibility, increase alertness, and increase testosterone production. that will benefit a golfer in the following ways:
1. visibility: distance and grade judgment
2. alertness: wind readings, grip, swing, body awareness (limb movement in relation to core)
3. testosterone: increases overall power and athletic responses
i agree that the future of golf will see an increase in athleticism. when people learn to use their body instead of using their arms to move the ball around, the performances will also increase.
as far as tiger goes, i doubt he's on any juice. i heard that he just had laser eye surgery, but cannot confirm or deny it. fantastic talent and marketability--great to see someone do something that he enjoys and make a lot of money in the process.
he's like 180 pounds... that isn't exactly looking like a pro wrestler. his arms are skinny... he seems to have a semi-big chest but its not like he's huge.
You obviously haven't seen him lately.
The jealous, effiminate, whiny little bitches are at it again.
Tiger is the best athlete in the world, but making breaking putts is guess work and luck , that body is the product of a lot of hard work in the gym but it does not help making putts.Golf is a study in frustration and concentration and Tiger is the best this cat has ever seen in ANY sport.

I think that the best example of the juice helping on the PGA tour is the ability to practice consistantly (ala Vijay) over longer periods of time without hurting your back or wrists or getting fatigued.
I assume that it's just the wardrobe but he did have kind of a Barry Bondesque look to him yesterday. Let's put it this way, after all that's been admitted to since Balco, I would not be surprised.

there are already plenty of strong, athletic golfers who can hit the ball a mile and will never make the tour. every course in america has a shmuck who can drive the ball 300-350 yards consistently.
golf is, has been, and will continue to be dominated by players who best know how to use every club shorter than their 4 iron.
just curious though, what makes you think the game is changing so dramatically?
As for the guy that says Tiger benches 300-plus, he's never maxed out in his professional career. He does extremely high-rep workouts with very little weight and is very careful not to max out or do anything that will risk injury.
Also, hitting it long is all about clubhead speed, and raw strength is just one component to generating speed--and I still think raw strength, at some point, can hurt certain aspects of a golfer's game. I've played with a couple guys from the long-drive tours, and neither broke 80 (yeah, I know a couple of those guys can supposedly play).
Tiger's far and away the game's best player and all that, and he's going to get Jack's records, but I wonder if he is right on the outer limit of how strong you can get and still have it be beneficial.
There is a difference to being strong and just plain large like Tiger. You don't have to be that big to hit the ball far. In fact Tiger is no longer off the tee now than 1997 when he won his first major. He's sure as hell not as accurate. And the guys driving it past him are out of shape: Philly Mick is longer than Tiger and so is Bubba Watson.
However being strong does allow puny golfers to pound the ball a little farther, and does allow them the ability to practice a lot harder without getting sore. But Tiger's bulk is just plain vanity.
Oh man, I can't believe we're having a debate over a golfer being juiced up... hahahahaha.
Anyway, remember that tiger was still pretty young when he came on tour, he was 21 years old. It's not like if you don't have any kind of size at 21, you're to old to get it naturally. He's bulked up over time, and most likely, naturally. It's not like Barry where he was scrawny as hell and then wham, one summer off he comes back looking like a sasquatch.
Tiger rules.
Yup.
