Recently I started incorporating push-ups into my "running regime". Supposedly they greatly strengthen the core and shoulders, so I figured they would help out in the long run. I've gotten up to 95 straight, but haven't noticed any real benefits and instead find myself in chronic lower back pain. I'm definitely doing them in good form (straight back, full extension, etc.), but it seems they're not worth it. Not to mention, the other day I heard the world record is like 10,000 in a row...so I feel like a scrub. Anybody else tried doing push-ups? Do they really help with running....or am I just wasting my time?
