Cool. Now maybe 'BZ can dump Katherine Switzer in favor of Joanie. Hoping....
For the record the NYC Marathon has a one hour national highlight show on NBC.
who cares...there's still national live coverage.

Losing interest? Why? Just because there will now be only two tv stations doing wire-to-wire coverage? That's hardly losing interest. And if you had done your homework, you would have known that the reason WCVB gave for discontinuing the coverage was because everyone prefers to view the race in person rather than on tv.
Just an FYI, you can vote on whether it should be cancelled on that link... Go drop a vote...
Also, who is this "sports industry expert?"
It is guys like that who screw up the sporting world. They are never athletes, always business-minded assholes who like to have the word "sports" in their title.
Anyway, don't really know much about the local Boston affiiate nets, so I won't comment about whether they should carry it, but it is not good for the sport, regardless of who else is carrying it.

Actually if you had read the article, you would have seen that it's looking like WBZ is ALSO going to drop it's wire-to-wire coverage. Meaning that only ONE network, not a local one, will be doing that.
The real (and painfully obvious) reason WCVB is dropping the coverage is MONEY, plain and simple.

No, WBZ has no plans to drop coverage despite what you read in that article. It was in the Herald after all. Consider the source.

If you saw that highlight show you would probably agree that it was so bad that they shouldn't have shown it at all. Here is the start (commercial break), here are the leaders at 16 (commercial break), here are the leaders in the last mile, and it doesn't look like they will catch him so we will focus the rest of the show on Lance Armstrong.
