Cabral thought he was in 2:15 shape on a flat course, so figured around 2:18 at Honolulu would be equivalent. He ran 2:19:16, but said the wind hurt him.

Cabral says he wanted to run a marathon because he thinks he responds well to that kind of training and it will help him run his best at the steeplechase.

Tanzania's Augustine Sulle was a close second in 2:07:46 while Levins was 4th and Jake Robertson 5th (2:09:52). Levins brok the 2:10:09 Canadian record which was set by Jerome Drayton nearly 43-years-ago. Belete broke the women's CR in a close race with defending champ Marta Megra (2:22:35).

The Canadian record is 43-years-old and sits at 2:10:09. Levins says he's "in great shape" and "ready to attack" the record.

Symmonds' longest run has been 15-miles and he's only been doing 25-30 miles a week. He says he'd like to break 3:30.

Mackey said Symmonds will increase his mileage by 25% to at least 70 miles a week.

The field is stacked as usual with 7 women who have ran under 2:21 and also includes Chicago champion Florence Kiplagat, Berlin winner Aberu Kebede and and former London winners Tigist Tufa (2015) and Aselefech Mergia (2010). Team USA will get some representation from Laura Thweatt and Kellyn Taylor.

It'll be a dream race for American distance fans as all the 2016 Olympic marathoners except Amy Cragg will toe the line in Boston. Plus Abdi Abdirahman, Trials 7th placer Shadrack Biwott, and what will be a highly anticipated debut by Hasay.

Huddle and Conley will make their marathon debuts as they compete with Kellyn Taylor, Sara Hall and Annie Bersagel while Ritz will line up alongside Ryan Vail and Matt Llano.

She's tied on the list with Shalane Flanagan. Taylor: "I feel like I've been good at a lot of different distances for a long time. I want to be great though and I'm hoping the marathon is what I can be great at."

She was going to make her debut in Berlin, but ended up getting injured. Here she'll face 2011 and 2012 Dubai winner Aselefech Mergia and defending champion Mulu Seboka.

Josh has finished a 50K and multiple 30Ks, but this will be his first 26.2. He hoping to break 3-hours.

Gabius is coached by Renato Canova who feels Gabius could go for the 2:08:47 German NR. Gabius is the first German to go sub-2:10 in 24-years.
