Also racing are Sally Kipyego, Betsy Saina, Buze Diriba and Mamitu Daska. On the men's side, Meb Keflezighi is racing as last year's winner Daniel Chebii leads the field with Stephen Sambu, Abdi Abdirahman, Chris Derrick and more.

In the women's half, Molly Huddle and Jordan Hasay take on US soil record holder Mary Wacera (66:29) and Edith Chelimo (65:52). Alex Korio Oloitiptit (58:51) leads a men's half field with Olympic silver medalist Feyisa Lelisa, Callum Hawkins, Stephen Sambu, Diego Estrada, Sam Chelanga, Luke Puskedra, and Bernard Lagat. In the men's marathon, defending champ Dominic Ondoro takes on Bazu Worku (2:05:25) while last year's women's half winner Veronicah Nyaruai Wanjiru makes her marathon debut against Mamitu Daska (2:21:59).

Chelanga and Longosiwa finished with identical times of 28:21 while Stephen Sambu was 10-seconds back in 3rd. Mamitu Daska won the women's race in 31:37 over Magdalyne Masai (31:44).

On the women's side, two-time Frankfurt Marathon champ Mamitu Daska faces off against 31:55 woman Veronicah Nyaruai.

2013 champ Tirfi Tsegaye was an earlier commit so 3 of the last 6 winners will be racing.

Lots of big names were entered given the huge prize money including Emily Chebet, Feyisa Lelisa, Micah Kogo and Japhet Korir.

Leonard Korir and Abdi Abdirahman are also in the field. The women are led by Joyce Chepkirui who faces Mamitu Daska, Mary Wacera, Gladys Cherono and Gemma Steel.

Kenya and Ethiopia have gone 1-2 in the women's race at 18 of the last 19 championships and appear likely to do so again in 2015. Can defending champ Emily Chebet of Kenya rebound from a 14th-place finish at the Kenyan Trials to claim her third World XC title?

Mary Keitany ran the third fastest time ever (66:02) to put away a stiff challenge by Mamitu Daska, who set a new Ethiopian record of 1:06:27. The men's race came down to a 5-way sprint but the big news was the drone that filmed parts of the race with stunning shots.

2011 NYC champ Firehiwot Dado and five-time World XC medalist Meselech Melkamu are also entered. In total, 12 women in the field have broken 2:24 and 22 have broken 2:28. 

Stephen Sambu, who owned the American road race scene this summer, was only fourth in 62:00. Molly Huddle was the top American woman in third (69:23), while Ethan Shaw, a member of the B.A.A. On the men's side Desisa will be up against Stephen Sambu, Leonard Korir and last year's runner-up Daniel Salel. Huddle faces BAA 10K champ Mamitu Daska, Betsy Saina, Linet Masai and 1:07:44 runner Mary Wacera.

Stephen Sambu, the former Arizona star, continued his fine 2014.  After pacing Galen Rupp to his American record at 10,000m and running 26:54.61 himself, Sambu took to the roads in Boston and beat Geoffrey Mutai.

They'll face heavy competition though from 1:06 half-marathoner Lucy Kabuu and Boston Marathon runner-up Buzunesh Deba.
