Hey trackhead
I'm drawing a blank here: did Tellez medal in the 4x400 for Cuba at the Atlanta Games? (He has to be one of the unluckiest athletes of all time to run sub 1:43 and STILL not medal in the 800. PS - what ever happed to Rhodal?

The cuban went from running 1:51 as a 19 year old to 1:42 and the silver medal as a 21 year old.
Téllez ran 1:47 at 18 yrs old (1990) and ran 1:42 in 1996 (24 years old).
So Mark Everett was the fastest 400m runner of the bunch, with a little more strength and better racing tactics he could have been a high 1:41 guy. I ran a 1200m time trial with him once and he ran a 2:57 like it was nothing, I was 11 secs back.
