This was very funny. It is painfully obvious that you are just another old man who thinks he looks young. You don't. Even if we pretend that your useless anecdotal evidence has any value, it's value is only this: you are unable to correctly judge age. However, your cognitive deficit is not universal and normal people without your disability can judge age. People look their age. You old men look like old men. perhaps you look like fit old men, but, that's all you get. You trying to twist telling someone they look their age is "insecurity" is ridiculous. I'm 55. When I was 50, random people would yell at a road race, "you look great for an old guy" or "you are the first old guy to cross the line" (even though I didn't win my age group). I have also already gotten senior discounts at restaurants without them even asking my age.

This. I'm 53 and I thought exactly like you when I was younger. The goal posts keep moving as you get older. I'm kinder, more patient, and hopefully wiser but have the same basic thought patterns and personality as I did when I was in my 20s. When I look in the mirror straight on, I think I look younger but the side profile reveals the truth. I'm older. It's ok. Now I think 60 is old. When I hit 60 I'll move the goal posts to 70.

Name the race Butthole. Any decent race in the states, Asia or Europe and let’s get it on. If you’ve got a 35 or a 1:16 in you, then bring it.

I'm 18. I'm pretty sure I look 18. I for sure can't buy liquor. I have no insecurities about looking my age or aging at this point. Maybe that will change, but if I ever become insecure like you pathetic old fools I hope I still have enough close family and friends who will be honest with me and keep me from being as pathetic as you losers.

Got a friend that is 71. PhD in Economics and attends numerous conferences every year giving lectures around the world. Probably on the road about 200-250 days a year. Really racks up the air miles. Spends most of his time when not lecturing in Bali and Guatemala. He's about 5'9" and 135lbs. Doesn't race anymore but does run about 35-40 miles a week. Dude doesn't look a day over 50 nor does he act it.

A year ago my company offered a first-ever voluntary retirement package for those 60 and over. I have never been more depressed in my life — I was 55 and had at least 15 people ask me if I was taking the package :-(

And yes, I was one of those who thought I didn’t look my age. I was right, just in the wrong direction. Actually it still bums me out when I think about it.

FDR was 63. The day before he died, he looked like he was 100.

Hahaha. I doubt you're 18, but if you are you have probably been asked if you are 30 and now you are hurting and taking it out on anyone looking younger than their age. I'm 24 and have been asked if I am still in high school so I certainly don't have your problem.

More likely you're a mid 50s guy who has been told he is 70 and now is upset and hating on all the youthful looking guys. Pretty sad and it's just going to get worse for you if you keep caring about it so deeply.

People constantly think i'm about 15 years younger than my actual age, even by ~20 yo youngsters. I personally don't think so as i have enough wrinkles around my eyes, but i'm also getting somewhat offended if someone thinks i'm just 5-10 years younger than i actually am as i am so used to be guessed 15+ years younger. This doesn't happen too often though, thankfully ;)

It's funny now, but has been annoying until my late 20s were people thought i was around 16 at best.

But there are also other people aswell with this “gift“ a friend's friend is a co-pilot of a B737 and when i met him he was 28, but he definetly looked 16. He also said that he still had to regularly show his ID card when buying beer (which is legal from age 16 on around here)

I was also shocked when a cashier in our cantene was having her 50th birthday. I always thought she was in her mid 30's

And a college of mine looked 40 when he went into pension at age 67.
