I've been in the structure triax for 3 years and don't think I'll switch.
I generally prefer Asics for training shoes, but I race in Nike. Streak flats, Vent's for track, and Kennedy XC for cross.
I will never wear anything besides Nikes.
Air Max, Pegasus, Marathoners... during my track careers I used Eldorets and Kennedys.
NIKE IS THE BEST EVER!
nike katana s in all my runs
14,789,452 people
One guy just got hit by a car. We're down to 14,789,451
anyone know if there are still jasaris availible anywhere?
I pounded out 5 years of 70-100 mile weeks in college all on 2 or 3 different versions (probably 25-30 pairs) of Air Structure Triax with no major injuries. I've never not worn Nike Spikes (Kennedy, Eldoret, Jasaris, Ventalus).
Nike might get a bad wrap for changing styles too often and worrying too much about fashion, but its major running shoes designed truly for running are very good.
Nikes suck...Brooks Cascadia and Montrail Vitesse rule!!!
Well, when I was in college we were given Nike Structures to train in, and Kennedys to race in. Luckily I'm a pronator and the Structures had just enough medial support to correct it. This years and from what I understand, next years Structure is not like the Structures of old. Much less support, but a lot more flexibility. Bad trade off for me. I still enjoy my Kennedys. I think they could be the most comfortable spike out there. Next closest is the Asics high end distance spike.
As for what I run in now, I prefer a few shoes. Brooks Adrenaline $90, Asics Kayano $135, Brooks Trance $130, New Balance 766 $90. These all fall into the moderate support category, meaning they have arch support and pronation correction. They are not neutral or a "cushion" shoe. (they are still cushioned) These shoes will probably work with 50% of the population. Most people are moderate pronators.
would it be bold to say that everyone on this board OWNS a pair of nike shoes of some description...spike..racer..trainer?
you need a hookup with a nike person.
a shoe is a shoe, i currently only have one pair of nikes- free 5.0, but i wear what ever brand works
Been wearing them since '73 including Waffle Trainers, LDV's & Bermuda's (think that's what they were called). Wore Pegasus until they died off, then the Pegasus Plus (International, now Moto).
Never wore Nike spikes ... because they didn't make them in my day but my son does.
I train in the NIke Zoom Marathoner. Brooks Cascadia are like running on blocks on concrete. But I guess you train only on soft surfaces.
