You can't be disqualified for bad push ups. They're just no counts. And Austen said he took away 5 of those that she did because they were poor form. The exercise only ends if any part of your body other than your palms or feet hit the ground.

Pretty sure she can kick your butt. She is a Marine, not a soldier. You've clearly never encountered a female Marine. I did JROTC in high school and some DI's from Parris Island came down one day to give us a very very small taste of what it's like to get drilled...I remember the female DI very well and she terrified me! One kid was so scared that he was doing his burpees in a pile of ants and didn't realize it until he started having an allergic reaction.
And god forbid you encounter a war-hardened female Marine.
For once I actually agree with Barholomew.
Pretty impressive given she doesn’t have anything close to a runners physique, she ran the first lap in 80, had no competition and her goal was 10 something. Throw in the fact that she had just kicked butt on the sit-ups and pushups about 10 minutes before the run.
How would the average LRC’er do on the non running parts of the test? Probably about 20 sit-ups and 5 push-ups.
Then why did you even bring this up?

You would be wrong. There;'s a reason why elite female athletes are what would be considered mediocre male athletes. That holds true for anything physical.

In what planet is a woman who runs a 4:12 indoor mile or 14:15 5k, or 2:14 marathon, considered mediocre?
98% of the men on LRC cannot even come within 20 seconds of the fastest women ever in the mile or 5k.

Earth and in an elite male field.

Thats 6:37 pace.
Most guys here know quite a few chicks that could do that easily.
I don't mind your goofy off topic posts, but this one shouldn't impress anyone.
And most of those chicks are probably not built like her,...for someone of her stature her time is very impressive. She looks nothing like the stereotypical runner.
She is not going to Olympics but for someone who probably isn't a serious runner, this is pretty good. Also, she can probably out lift real runners.
while at West Point I ran a 10:12 two mile for the APFT in combat boots and BDU's. I had classmates from the cross country or track teams that probably ran faster. You max out the test running quite a bit slower so most cadets didn't even try to run faster
That's pretty good! My best last year was around 11 flast last year for 1.5 miles and she's 70 seconds ahead of me. But I'm much older and fatter.
I teach an exercise physiology class and we always do the 1.5 mile run in lab. A woman on the track team did it in 7:50, and we're at altitude.

Fastest girl on the series so far. This is after doing push ups and situps.
Run starts at 11:00 mark.

So she cheats on the situps - runs an extremely mediocre time in the run - and did she even do pullups? I doubt she could do one.

Navy does not do pull ups in the PFT...

Navy does not do pull ups in the PFT...
What does that tell you?
So despite being weaker, slower with less endurance she's going to be tougher and kick our asses? OK.
Look there are plenty of strong enduring girls with near male ability but she is not one of them.
That's 6:34 mile pace. I know some 10 year old girls that could do that,
It tells me, that as the video states, she is a Marine doing the Navy PFT...In the Corps, women have the option of doing pull ups or dead hang. where you hold your chin above the bar as long as you can. This video doesn't tell us anything about her ability to do pull ups. But the fact that she is a Marine means she can handle a lot of crap. Most on here would be crying home to mama and papa their first day at MCRD Parris Island or San Diego. Could you even handle The Crucible?

I could handle the "crucible" whatever the heck that is. LOL

I seriously doubt it. But anyone who makes it far enough to do it can handle it.
What is the threshold that separates a "hobbyjogger" from a "sub-elite" runner?
Caitlin Clark thinks she can beat Eagles draft pick Cooper Dejean in 1 on 1
Cade Flatt with yet another DNF, this time in the SEC Championships
Do "running influencers" harm the competitive nature of the sport?
