Well did you do it AJ?
Well did you do it AJ?
Sadly, no. The last open track in town was padlocked yesterday so we hit the roads instead. We designed a huge downhill course with 300 ft of elevation drop. I was out in 4:55 (big downhill) but slowly faded from there, 5:26, 5:30, :34 = 16:26 total. Just wasn’t my day. Kinda warm and humid. Giraffes like it cold.
Did you do time trial today too?
Starting to think I could do 100 in all singles if I wanted to, looking like I'm going to hit 90 this week again in all singles and with only a 6 mile run on Monday
@ aj - It's also hard as hell to do a time trial like that mentally even knowing you have the fitness
Same deal actually with the track. Showed up at the track at 5:30 and it was padlocked so I went up to the trail near my house and during my warmup triple checked mile marker to mile marker was corroborated by my GPS, set my auto lap to .25 and headed off into the dark.
Ended up at 4:41 (67/72/72/69 and various tenths). Felt really strong and had a ton left in the tank at the end. Feel like I probably had 4-5 more seconds on me if I had been less of a weenie and pushed the middle 2 quarters. This was my first mile since I was 14 years old though so I will cut myself some slack.
There was a slight downhill so GAP on Strava had me at 4:46 though it was imperceptible so not sure I trust it.
I am going to give it another go in 2 weeks and see if I can break into the 4:30s. New goal for this summer is to break 4:30 I think. This was a ton of fun.
Well done worm

Thanks for inquiring. As of right now, no wine yet. Weather has been weird—very up and down. Today was on the warm side, with harsh thunderstorms in the morning...lots of lightning...which made me skip my run this morning (might be a first).
So, I went to work and then asked the boss if I could take a break and run. Turned out to be a heck of a little flyer—felt strong the whole way. Getting out of my local area and off of my usual routes really helped me mentally.
Will see about the wine...
What you up to?
HHW - Nice run. You’ve definitely still got some speed.
OR - Saw a flash this morning. My wife thought it was lightning, but I was pretty sure it was from a red light camera—proven wrong a few seconds later.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
