Kaptagat, where they do most of their training is at about 7800 feet and is mostly rocky dirt roads.
But the problem with all of the racing is, that you can only race against the people who show up at race day. Kenyans just don't do that long stuff. They are not even doing the Comrades Marathon. I am pretty sure the reason is, because they know they wouldn't succeed as great as you think they would.
