To set the American Record, obvs.

There are different goals for professional runners. Sometimes it's racing; sometimes it's running fast. Both are exciting and motivating for people whose careers are running. So let them enjoy it. I find it super exciting as a fan.

Couldn't they have done that in the 5K, i.e. a distance people actually care about?

You mean, something like usatf indoors where they took the top 3 places in the 3k? Or the 4 btc women in the 5k tonight?
Something like that?

Why is that? You don’t know their training. You don’t know their objectives. You’re sure not their coach. With all that considered, why do you think you know better? Really strange thinking. Maybe just a narcissist or something?

You believe it's narcissistic to share one's opinion? That's a loser attitude.

In fact, yea. That's a lot more exciting than super fast curated time trials against your teammates.
Yeah, well, they already ticked those boxes, buddy. People are never satisfied, no matter what you do.
Race more! Check
We want competition and not trials!Race usatf! Check
We want some fast times! Check
Have a feeling that you complain a lot in general.

I only said the second one. Not sure why you infer the other two...
So Schweizer beats a 3.54xx 1500 runner (who is also the American 5k record holder). Interesting. Apparently Houlihan needs a world championship race to show her true form.
lame. "races" that are time trials with 3-4 people (especially all from the same training group) should be considered exhibition events that are not record-eligible.
this is stupid. how about you actually race once in a while outside of time trials and USATF meets. or would that mess up your microdosing schedule
I believe that this is the first time Karissa has beat either Shelby or Colleen, and she does it in dramatic fashion! American Women's distance is exploding.
Cool.

I like how she did it from the front, and ran out their legs in the process.

I care about the 3k. What's wrong with the 3k? We're not talking about your local road race here.

Quigley is going to SLAY in the steeple this year. She is already perfect for it and now her flat speed is better than Coburn's.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
