I thought he was an adidas guy, falling in line with the TME ? What are his chances to actually pull in real real pro money with his 1:01 HalfM?

I don't think most of the tinman guys have a sponsorship including him. Not 100% sure though, I'll assume he might wear em.
You should read Gault's recent shoe article. It basically says Reed has a contract coming. It does not say with who, but it kinda sorta seems to suggest he will wear Nike's at the trials, but will maybe be joining a different company.

Josh Cox ...blah blah blah, Nike and adidas ... blah blah lol. Just living the dream ...
TME as a group is not adidas sponsored beyond free/discount gear and probably never will be. All adidas has to do is have deals individually with a few on the team who are a threat to make USA teams and basically the rest will gladly wear the gear for free. Hunter and Parsons built the team with no salaries/stipends, healthcare, travel funds from a single sponsor for the team, adidas doesn't and shouldn't care whether the group maintains. I like the group and hope they continue to abide, but that doesn't mean anything relative to a marketing bottom line at a company like adidas. Tinman's two guys in the marathon OT, Austin and Fischer, are single-digit percent threats to make the team and won't be in adidas gear in any case. TME do a great job with viral marketing and storytelling, that's a big part of why I'm a fan. Unfortunately, it's just not going to bring even a quarter the ROI of Kylee Jenner or Kanye West. Ultimately, Reed is right to pursue his own sponsorship terms though it's cool that he hasn't whored himself and has placed TME before all others thus far. He has a job, he shouldn't need to go the Kara route.
Was kind of wondering/hoping he and a few other TME or Adidas guys would wear the Adidas Houston prototype.
You mean Kara G who won the silver medal at WC in 2007; Kara G who made two Olympic Teams; the same Kara G that placed high in Boston and New York after her track career was over. You are probably used to have a Kara G Barbi doll... You've an amazing imagination and your unbiased opinions are welcoming amongst all the hate served up here at LRC ... idiot.
Josh Cox will never maximize what an athlete can receive.
Oh chill out, I never intended to touch a nerve with that throwaway comment. I just meant when people are in a time and place where simply enjoying running could and maybe should be paramount they don't wind up chasing distraction in the name of clawing for relevance. Kara has great achievements, nothing will diminish those, she can stand to rest on those laurels at this point and not beat the corporate branding drum. I can see that it helps her continue to show up to races and expos to inspire girls and women, so it's really not an issue for me. In the context of hashtags and marketing campaigns getting pushed by even age groupers nowadays (which is certainly uglier), it's refreshing that Fischer is someone who sees the bigger picture and is happy to run free, in relative terms. It's also nice that he is part of a team that will take care of the lion's share of promotion.
The one that utilized Salazar's drugs until her career was on the back 9, and did not want it to be tarnished in further affiliation at the end of her career. So she then decided to separate and begin throwing the group under the bus to attempt to insulate herself from suspicion.
He signed a contract with Adidas. Sooooo Adidas. Case closed.
