My prediction for what happens: Rojo starts a thread blaming the coronavirus on the Vaporfly.

It's worse than that! Nike engineered the coronavirus and the only immunity comes from wearing a Vaporfly. Luckily, fresh stock and colors just hit the Nike.com website and everyone in your family can be safe for $250/pair.

If Rojo disagrees it's bc Nike is in his pocket

So everybody with half a brain survives because they are already wearing vaporflies. Unwilling to swallow his pride, Rojo refuses to inoculate himself and succumbs to the virus in just over five hours, which ironically is the same time garmin predicts for rojo’s marathon time. With its best promoter dead, vaporfly sales plummet and within 10 years humans are extinct.
Hold it in September/October, as they did in 1964...
Clearly you rehold the marathon trials with a limited field.
I mean, can you imagine how fast Walmsley is going to run the 2021 trials after another year of marathon specific training
(am I doing this right?)

You forgot to mention how, by 2021, he'll also:
1. Have the CR at Comrades
2. Have the CR at UTMB
3. Found a vaccine for the Coronavirus
4. Eradicated Polio
5. Solved (and Zero'd Out) the US National Debt
6. Been the First Human on Mars
7. Figured Out the exact tracking of a Hurricane 7 days out
Did I miss anything?
Exactly. It will be cancelled. No country or city in their right mind will want to hold a gathering of people coming from all over the world in the near future or within the calendar year. The problem is that even if they come up with a vaccine the virus will mutate next year and continue the spread through the winter season. There is no way this is postponed until we get a better picture of how deadly the virus is and get it under control. If it is going to be like any other virus then the world waits until it all settles down.
Dick Pound, one hell of a name.
The chances are going UP. The odds are going DOWN.

LOL, stop being so melodramatic.
The Olympics are not going to be postponed/cancelled. There's too much invested in them and the coronavirus will be well under control by then.
It's amazing how some people can see the future. Scientists say it's impossible but no, some people just can, and they're entitled to make absolute, rigid statements about what's going to happen with no doubt or weighing up of the probabilities at all. Tell us, how do you do it?
This Map is interesting, it shows where there have been CoronaVirus Breakouts, Notice as of this writing there are ZERO Cases in Africa (In any of the 54-55 Countries), Africa is supposed to be less advanced, yet Their Medical Professionals have kept the Cases to Zero. While the More Advanced USA and Japan keep growing more and more.
How is this Possible?, I would think the Most Advanced Countries would have the Least and the 3rd World Countries would have the most and grow like Wildfire?
How can This be?
If anyone has an Answer, Thank You in Advance

What baffles me is nobody mentioned that it will be the middle of the f#cking Summer with 40 deg Celsius like temperatures in Tokyo!
Reminder lads they moved the Olympic marathon because of heat risks :)
Flu and Pulmonary virus do not flare well in heat and if health authorities haven’t well the summer season will have contained the virus long before the Olympics start.
Only risks I would see is a cancellation because be preparations have been too delayed because of the virus. Unlikely hypothesis as Japan is not (yet?) heavily affected by the virus (no restrictions etc) and has not reported any delay in preparation (most of Olympic infrastructure is existing etc)
Now the Map shows 1 in North Africa, Still they have by far the Least.
South America is doing great as well
The US would have far fewer cases if the current administration did not encourage ill people to fly back into this country.
has the coronavirus jumped the shark?
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
