U.S. g.d.p. growth has been weak in general since the end of George W Bush administration. List full PhD. economists who state U.S. g.d.p. growth is actually 3% annually or greater. U.S. would not be an international world power if U.S. averaged less than 2.5% annual g.d.p. growth over the past 150 years.

I've been all around the world and overall the usa is the greatest country. Yes there are countries that do some specific things better than the us and for some of you that may make that country feel better. However, no country is as well balanced.
Anyone saying the us sucks because of drugs, sex trafficking, crime, etc. Clearly hasn't been through Europe or Asia. Drugs and sex trafficking is rampant.
One of the greatest things about the us and the reason so many people immigrate here every year is upward mobility. No country offers opportunities like the us.
Many countries are able to spend their money on quality of life things for their citizens that the us can't because of the protections the us creates for them. We spend more on our military so others don't have to. If the us pulled their troops from everywhere and these countries had to defend themselves, the free everything they offer would go away very quickly.

How do you know most Americans believe it’s the best place in the world? You don’t think there’s plenty of Kapernecks out there? We have more freedom than any other country to do whatever we want! America is changing and maybe not in the best way! But the fact you have freedom of speech, freedom to work and live where you want, and the freedom to walk down the street and not worry about a plane flying over and dropping a bomb on you are all good things. Things could always be better but i believe we have so many things we take for granted.

The question is not if the USA is actually the greatest country in the world (data can be used to prove or disprove that point). The question is why do Americans feel compelled to repeat this mantra over and over and over again.
