Hey letsrun,
My first 800m race of the season will be on the 16th, and it’s time for me to start priming. I’ve been putting in the work, with my mileage fluctuating between 40-55 per week depending on quality. Now I just need some workouts to wake my body up and get it ready for racing the 800m. I’ve been hitting a decent amount of short speed stuff, like flying 50s, 100 on 100 offs and 200m repeats, and I’ve done lots of longer stuff like tempo runs and long runs as well. Right now I see my biggest flaw as not doing enough 400/800 lactic acid type stuff. I can run a 400 as fast as 53.5 right now, but anything under 60 makes me tighten up pretty bad. I can see myself running sub 2 pace for 600, but I think I’d fall off a bit after that.
What are some good workouts that will help me in my specific situation so I can meet my goal of sub 2 for indoor?
