How much scholarship money does he get to play with compared to the multis?
An Arkansas reporter said last night that Bucknam is mulling retirement. The current AD hasn’t made his opinion on it public but he suggested he’s trying to push Bucknam out
Hypothetical question.
Could John McDonnell, and Dick Booth, if they were, let's say 28 years old all over again, replicate the success they had together, if they took the Arkansas program over tomorrow?
I'll take my answer off the air.
Absolutely not. They, like many other hall of fame coaches were successful in their era as they worked with the type of college athlete that went to school in that era and with the societal norms and NCAA rules of that era. Today is a whole different game. They would have to find ways to be relevant today. Using the methods used in the past would be unsuccessful and would likely result in dismissal from the job and potentially NCAA violations and investigations. To that point, it is highly unlikely today’s successful coaches would be successful 40 years from now either as I suspect norm, rules, and kids will continue to change.
Looking at recent postings ... Any idea what something like the part time position at Niagra University pays?
Also, why do no D1 graduate assistant positions seem to include stipends or housing?
Need some advice: Would D1 assistant coaching contract typically provide for performance bonuses or is salary fixed at start of year?
Thank you kindly!
Escorted out the door by Falwell Jr?
It's hard to recruit elite high school kids to a university that doesn't have much to offer academically and is in a low budget conference. Tolsma did better than what could reasonably be expected. Next man up inherits great facilities.
This article is from September, but now the job has been posted
UMass just won the women's A-10 indoor title so seems like a decent gig.

The fact is winners win.

Who left?
He has planned on retiring this year for awhile. Nothing forced about it. JSU loves him he is a great all around guy.
The Towson xc coach had a disagreement with the head coach.
Prob Asha Gibson or Chyna Davis.

I have never heard of performance bonuses for assistants at any school.
But I'm not "in the loop," esp. re Div. I. (I haven't coached at a D1 for many years.) Anybody else want to weigh in?
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
