TATE TO BCEP? Presiner to BCEP? LETSSSGOOOO
A reporter from the Globe and Mail has been calling around looking for info. They have called UVic alum from when DST was there and they are sniffing around UofT looking to contact Andrea Seccafien.
A couple women from UofG (third and fourth years) have asked to transfer to another university and USport is looking into it. They are citing issues with DST as the reason for the transfer.
AC is also conducting a parallel investigation. They have to considering Speed River and DST’s national coaching credentials.
The investigations are continuing because more people are coming forward.
Guelph coaches and Admin met with the current team last week to speak to the Cdn Running article. Instead of advocating for people to come forward with concerns about DST, they basically described a witch hunt. Very disappointing. Looks like they are trying to discourage people from coming forward.

I hope they enjoyed being injured most of the time!
LOL, that is a good point about BCEP

If this is true, someone needs to have the guts to say so publicly, to ensure athletes and coaches know not to send anyone else to U of Guelph or Speed River. This certainly does fit with all the previous Guelph and SR issues, except this is the culmination and quite possibly no one gets away clean.
There have been years and years of strained relationships between endurance athletes and the coaching environment at Speed River, ask any athlete who has come and later gone and there are consistent threads in all their experiences. It has been commonly known for extended time; only a small group of athletes, those very skilled at self-regulation, have stuck it through and had success.
What happens if power-violating coaching practices are shown with evidence, and the Speed River staff are shown to have had knowledge that this was going on, but nobody questioned the Head Coach authority that the violations were occurring?
Any chance BS gets the job at UG?
pays way better than UBC.
He is happy at UBC. If there is even a job left who would want it?
AC stated they are NOT investigating DST , but now that the legal and RCMP are involved AC is now investigating ?
Hey Canadians, AC isn't dumb enough to send a team to world indoors right?
Why do people keep saying the RCMP are involved? If this is assault type stuff it would be the local or provincial police.
If this is financial crime the RCMP would have jurisdiction but no way it is high value enough for them to bother.
I doubt this is true, if it comes out from current athletes that they were pushed to not come forward then that is a total abuse of power. They would not be dumb enough to make that mistake. It's not a witch hunt
Although, the club was dumb enough to state that he's not being investigated and that it's a leave of absence. Thats what Ken Porter and the ottawa lions said as well

If they are asking questions to an athlete not living in Ontario now, wouldn't the RCMP take the lead ?
Pretty sure the Guelph cops have a long distance plan, no need to call in the mounted police
You're clearly not a good source. There is very little love lost even within Guelph for DST over the past few years. He has not treated his admin (department), staff (coaches) or athletes well and anyone close to the situation knows that. when this first came out, the admin at the school informed their staff that DST was going on personal leave (obviously they then hired an investigator), which was what was relayed to the team in a meeting. I think everyone was confused at that point and thought this was potentially more serious , but still a singular issue with a single athlete. Turns out we might be digging a lot deeper than that now.
The program will be healthier once he's gone and the storm clears up... XC team will be a little more difficult but 2/3 of the T&F team never dealt with him anyways. Those on the inside are all ready to move on to a healthier situation.
They won't protect him. Just the opposite. They will have spoken their truth to their experience with him.
Not a single person has taken to twitter like the Alberto, NHL, Mary Cain, NOP, me too etc....
There is nothing to see here folks.
Once the dust settles, you'll probably find when DST ordered Chris Dulhanty to sweep the leg he called an audible and went for his signature arm-bar instead.
That's about it plus perhaps not booting Milne out sooner.
That's your bombshell woo hoo wipdeedoo

Andrea Seccafien is training in Australia. I think she is now on her third track club after leaving SR. She doesn’t like Dave but I doubt anything serious happened there, other than disagreements. Dave developed her into a world class runner. She owes a lot to Dave and SR for making her the runner she is today.
People involved with the University of Guelph and Speed River program have rallied behind Dave Scott-Thomas and Chris Moulton for many years, including publicly when minor scandals were uncovered.
It might be better to say they won't protect him anymore, as they have obviously done so in the past.
There should be an independent third party to investigate (i.e. not Athletics Canada) when so many of the incidents involving him and Speed River were major conflict of interest with Athletics Canada.
