Don’t be a pansy.

Well I duckduckgo-ed it and urban dictionary says don't be a [cat].
Wait what? I always thought it stood for "Don't be a poltroon!"

I think that I'll position myself at the 6 mile mark. That way I can hit both races before the half/full split.
Well then +1 on the don't be a poltroon sign.
Be there or be square.
Even better have a tall boy of Natty Light to hand off to RRR whom is on the injured reserve.

Will be looking for you. Feel free to make yourself useful and pace for a mile or 26.
Where’s the letsrun meet up going to be?
Looks like it’s saying snow on Thursday and low of 23 and 34 Saturday. ❄️
How’s the wind over there this time of the year?

Ha! No plans on pacing, I'll be working too hard holding the sign. Might wear my red onesie for the occasion because it's gonna get cold standing there.
And what's this about RRR wanting a beer? I thought you were supposed to running here.

The wind is basically a steady 10 mph from a westerly direction the entire winter. It's not like the plains of Wyoming, bit it gets to ya. Windproof gear helps take the bite out of it.
No comment on the meetup, you clowns can figure that out.
Wish this thread had more substance. What will everybody be wearing for a race in the 20s?

Arms warmers, gloves, singlet, JUNK headband, split shorts, third sock for the little guy, next % vaporflies.
Will probably start in an extra shirt that I plan ditch when I get warmed up.

Finish line @ 10:39.

The course is known for being fast. Not true?
Vaporfly OGs, light tights, singlet with arm-warmers and then a throwaway longsleeve on top. Hands will be latex gloves under thin glove/mitten combos (with handwarmers) under crew socks. I'll wear my JUNK headband if I can find it.
I'd wear less if I had been training in these temps all winter. But this will easily be the coldest weather I've run in in about 6 months, and so I think it will be a bit more of shock to the system. Better to err on the side of a little warmer.

Who will be going this year? What does everyone think of the weather? Too cold?
It sounds like there will be a big elite field this year compared to others.
Weather forecast is now showing 23 degrees at the start of the race, light winds not a factor.
Last week I had a morning workout where it was about 27 degrees with zero wind, it didn't seem to be too bad. I wore light gloves, tights, and one long sleeve shirt.
I'm thinking light gloves, arm sleeves instead of long-sleeved shirt, singlet top would all be enough. I'm a little worried about down below though. The man-piece can freeze easily if it's freezing and windy, 23 isn't crazy cold and there won't be much wind so it might not be an issue to wear shorts, but it can be risky.

I may or may not be spectating. Does anybody want me to make them a sign?
For the RRTT crew you could put something about Gobble Gobble...
Anyone have any arm warmers they recommend?
I’m thinking the same as everyone else. Jersey, possibly half tights, arm warmers, gloves, and compression sleeves. Coldest I’ve ran in is about 40-45 degrees so we shall see how the body responds. CIM last year was in the 30s and that wasn’t too bad I guess.
I used to have a pair made by Brooks that were awesome, but I lost them and they don’t seem to make that model anymore.
I’ve got an old pair of cotton ASICS arm warmers that are pretty good. I’ve also got a homemade set I like that I made from cheap black socks I bought at CVS and cut the toes out.
I don’t really like the arm warmers made out of fancy tech fabric. I’ve had a couple pair of those that felt tight on my bulging biceps.
It is a very fast course. I wouldn't call it a course with hills, as there is really only one moderate hill (40-50 ft?) on the course. It's almost totally flat and a pretty low number of 90 degree turns. Add in that the weather is generally cool, although colder this year, and you get a lot of good performances. It has been exciting to see the fields deepen at this race every year.

There are some hills there between miles 16 and 19 but nothing too frightening. Once you get past the art museum it's pretty much flat all the way home. The elevation profile looks harder than the reality.
