ok brief bio. my fastest mile in high school [just graduated] was 4:22.19 and fastest two miles 9:41.33. Over the summer Ive logged 50mpw [most ive ever ran] and all they have been is nothing but long runs [60min] at a relaxed pace..basically the fastest slow pace i can run, or slowest fast pace depending on how you look at it. Also on these runs 20-30 minutes of the run is pure hills absolutely no flat ground. Well i recently measured my route using Runner's Mapquest and used a pace calculator to get my pace based on the time that I ran my route in. My route was 8.78 miles and I ran it 57:23 which is a 6:32 mile pace. I started out at a 6:55 for the first couple miles though and i know i dropped the pace a lot. Basically that is my running schedule 6 days out the week every week.
Now as i said my fastest mile during high school was 4:22.19 and i was pretty dead afterwards. Now the other day i decided to do a 4mile time trial which i basically ran the first 4 miles of my route. And im not f***ing around I went out at 4:23 the first mile..it totally freaked me out i was actually panicking, crossed 2 miles in 9:26, continued to panick and dropped to 5:30 for the last two miles finishing in 20:26 total...i mean i felt pretty good at the mile and even at the two mile but i seriously was like WUT THE FUCK!!
Could i be on to something? please this shit seriously freaked the shit outta me.
