Kosgei now has the mixed-gender record.
No the mixed gender record is Kipchoge with his 2h 01 xx in Berlin last year. I think all races should be mixed gender and people should be awarded according to where they finish in the race regardless of their gender. It is sexist to say that women cannot run as fast as men and therefore pay them more when they run slower, how patronising is that?! Physiologically women have the advantages of weighing less and having smaller feet which weigh less (huge advantage in a marathon distance with all the strides taken) so these advantages very much balance out against the men's advantage of more raw strength. So the gender categories really should be eliminated from road races especially when awarding the prize/appearance money. The sport is now a serious profession so it needs to get in line- in other professions such as medicine for example, you would not be paying women doctors more money simply because they are women? That would be ridiculous.
