I’m anti NOP but I actually don’t think this is a big deal.
Dr. brown saw A LOT of the top runners. I know for a fact that USATF and the USOC training centers referred athletes to Dr. Brown.
He was THE guy to go to. That doesn’t mean all these athletes were cheating.
Unfortunately, Simpson built her own glass house. She said that she can’t believe that any athlete would train with Salazar given his reputation, as a result, any athlete that decided to join him is suspicious.
Unless you are living under a rock, you also knew that Dr Brown had an equally bad reputation, so Simpson should follow the same logic. Any athlete who used him (including herself) is now suspicious as a result.
I obviously don’t agree with such broad accusations (she threw Engel into that...), but Simpson does. If we follow her logic, she now would like us to be suspicious of her and would like us to feel that her performances are tainted.
Ok, i’m now suspicious of this 33 year old who is running 3:58 (only one second off her best).
Alan Webb was running 3:42 at age 30...
