This always upsets me. I was diagnosed with asthma as an infant. Spent days in the hospital, hours at the doctors sitting on a damn machine and learning of the potential dangers. I, unfortunately, have never fully outgrown my asthma. Luckily, it only flares when I'm sick or when we have Wild Fires in CA.
I am supposed to take my inhaler daily, for safety. I do not. This is because of athletes who have used a SERIOUS medical condition as their performance enhancer. Instead, I use it when I begin wheezing - once or twice a year, and then tuck it away. They have created shame and embarassment for me.
I found other ways to make my lungs stronget , such as lung expanders in the pool, and actually just spit a lot (TMI) when I run since my lungs get clogged with phlem. So if she truly has a condition, I am shocked she hasn't tried making her body stronger. If she does not - Shame on her, from all Asthmatics.
