Why would you think that? Height isn't what matters. It is how much you have to raise your CG and how the hurdles effect your running motion. Compare the technique used by each when they go over the hurdles and the guys all seem to put a lot more effort into clearing.
I also wouldn't be too shocked if Warhol's is closer to 2s (43 high) than 3s (sub 43) also.
These type of charts are hard cause we never know how seriously the athletes take their off events. It is one thing to run a 400m in May as part of your training. It is another to run it when you are in peak form in August. I know Taylor ran some serious 400ms. I don't think Young ever didm
Sydney is 5'9". Warholm is 6'2". Benjamin is 6'3". And Dos Santos is 6'5" so the hurdle height differential of 6" is justs about negated. I think being a woman givers her greater flexibility though.

One thing I noticed is that some of the top 400 H mens' runners were elite 400 open runners like Clement, Taylor and others. It doesn't seem the women had elite hurdlers who were also elite 400 open runners. They maybe had the potential to be but didn't have the times.
She could of given Miller Uibo all she wanted tonight. She doesn’t have the crazy 200 speed like Uibo but she’s so strong.
I don’t think she’s touching the world record in the 400m but with Uibo saying she’s focusing on the 200m from here on out then who is going to beat her? She dog walks the rest of those girls.
The table Rojo posted for the top men showed a difference of 1.5 - 3 seconds. Kevin Young was only 1.68 or something. It did not list the most recent men but remember Warholme didn't run that fast in that flat 400 he ran after the Olympics. There is no way the difference is any more than 2 seconds for the top woman given the height of the hurdles. I would guess at 49 low for Syd. 48 high at best. Still incredible but she's not running sub 48.
She makes it seem like the hurdles are too low. Barely a jump. I agree that she wouldn’t run more than 2 seconds faster over 400 flat just because her technique over the hurdles is so good. By the way, is it just me or does she come across as being a little arrogant?
What shoes do 400 hurdlers use? Do they have spikes with the same advancements as the dragonfly etc? I genuinely don't know. Seems strange world records get broken and there is no mention of the footwear at all. I'm sure Syd is an amazing athlete and would hold the WR anyway but are the shoes helping take the records apart by large margins? Good cushioning and a carbon plate to drive people forward after the land could make a big difference in this event no?
Strangely enough, I think she would struggle to go below 49 mid. I know it looks harsh, but it looks like the barriers are not really slowing her much. That s the downside of perfect technique. I do want to be proven wrong, she is an animal.
I hope she also tries other events, I am so curious to see what she can do (long jump?).
For world class runners, what should the conversion be? The women's times from the WC were about 4 seconds apart, and fairly equivalent performances historically (not sure how legit the 400m WR is, but that would make the difference more than 4.5 seconds). Since women's hurdles are shorter relative to the height difference of most men and women, meaning the flat/hurdles differential should be even bigger for the men, wouldn't that suggest an equivalent for 46.x guys like Warholm and Benjamin to sub-43 - or at least more conservatively, sub-44 putting them among medal contenders?
A lot depends on the efficiency of the athlete at hurdling. Sydney and Karsten as examples are just so clean on their hurdling technique that they barely slow on each hurdle. With other athletes you'll notice a distinct slowing of speed and momentum. Karsten has never dipped much below 45 for the 400m. If I recall he ran a 400m flat not long after his Olympic world record and was only a low 45. My feeling is Sydney could be quite similar and may only be capable of a low 49.

Her technique may be really good but she is stil expending a lot of energy jumping over the hurdles.
That is an insane and very poorly thought out assertion. I have long said the Women's IHs are simply way too low, there is now way she only improved 1 second though. The 100's are too low as well, they simply run over them, barely if, hurdle them.
Are world/Olympic schedules ever conducive to a 400h/400 double?
Sometimes. It's inconsistent.
I would also like the schedule to allow for a 400 / 800 double, so that both McLaughlin and Mu can double.
/\ this /\
That "sometimes" is one of the big problems with T&A championships. Remember Rio 2016 when the men's 10000 and Marathon was a whole week apart? This year they were on the same effing day! No consistency! No doubling possible, except when it is...
As for the flat running events I would like to see a/the next WC stretched out over 12 weeks - like THIS:
Week 1: 100 meters.
Week 2: 200 meters (with the three medalists from the 100 autoqualified for the three semis).
Week 3: 400 meters (with the three previous medalists as above).
Week 4: 800 meters (with the three previous medalists as above).
Week 5: 1500 meters (with the three previous medalists as above).
Week 5: 5000 meters (with the three previous medalists as above).
Week 6: 10000 meters (with the three previous medalists in it of course).
Week 8: Half Marathon (a little longer rest need here for the three medalists in the 10K).
Week 12: Marathon (a month rest for the three medalists in the HM).
And come to think about it - there's room for the relays, hurdles and steeple in Week, 7, 9, 10 and 11 with this layout.

She can go under 1:53.
I would love to see her and Mu, Hodgkinson, Wilson in an 800.
At the risk of introducing FACTS into this opinion fest, the last time that Sydney ran both the 400H and the open 400 somewhat equally was 2018, when she ran 52.75/50.0. Clearly she is at minimum, a 48-low if not potentially a 47-high 400 runner. Bobby won't have her switch unless he believes she can run these times.
