I thought I would check my Strava to see what my 2019 was like. I'm fortunate to still be young and able to whip my body into shape quickly:
Total Mileage: 1,096
Weeks with No Running: 6
Weeks with 10 miles or less: 9
Weeks with 10-30 Miles: 7
Weeks with 30-40 Miles: 9 (includes Marathon Race Week)
Weeks with 40-50 Miles: 4
Weeks with 50+ Miles: 7
Highest Mileage Week: 55 Miles
Weekly Average: 26
Total Runs Over 12 Miles: 15
Long Runs Over 17 Miles: 5
Long Runs of 2.5 hours: 3
My goal this winter is to consistently run 35 MPW of easy running. I'm going to focus on non-running goals, namely improving my vertical jump. I've always wanted to be able to dunk a basketball well and improve my spiking ability in Volleyball (my wife and I have been playing in a rec league with some friends from work). I kind-of could dunk for a couple years in college, but never consistently. I know I can still pretty easily grab the rim, and I've always had pretty good natural jumping ability, but never focused on training it, so I hope I can get there in 2-3 months. I'm excited to take some pressure off myself to hit running workouts. I will do at least one half in the spring and then participate in corporate challenge - probably a 5k, half marathon, and Mile - sometime in May/June. I'm hoping to not run another marathon until boston 2021, but I'd like to get some speed back before then - get back under 4:55 for the mile, and hopefully knock out some prs in the 5k/10k and half. Tentatively targeting ~ 16:55, sub 35:00 and sub 1:20.
