5000 start list?
-
What about barega v chelimo v cheptegei again, this time 5000 and throw in T.Bekele who beat them all in Rome. Add Balew, Hadis, n.kimeli, Wanders, and Berihu. Sensational.

And Davis Kiplangat yesterday? -
The World Championships is completely irrelevant. These are the races that matter.
Unfortunately, Diamond League spreads itself too thin for any of them to be really good. Lausanne is one of the ones that should be axed, there's no reason Switzerland should get two meets. Make the UK choose between London and Birmingham too, better yet neither, they're both terrible. -

More importantly it's only 12 days until Monaco. -
I am hoping that SAFP, talou, and Asher-Smith are given the central lanes for the 100

I don't see Amos in the Lausanne lineup. Maybe you were looking at the Monaco list?
I didn't realize there is a 1500 in Lausanne too.
The lineups for Lausanne and Monaco look pretty much the same, so Lausanne is a good dress rehearsal for Monaco. Only notable difference I can see is that Jake Wightman goes in Lausanne and in Monaco Josh Kerr.
Will be very interesting to see if Kerr can get close to 3:30. Above John Mayock at 3:31.86 are the four greats - Farah, Cram, Coe, Ovett at the top of the GB all time list. -

You're correct. I got the two 800's tangled in my brain. Monaco 800 link for clarity:

The 1500 in Lausanne pits the top four from bowerville (Cheruiyot, soulieman, Filip, and Jakob) and adds in three Kenyans plus musagala all with 3.33+ this year. -
Wanders will likely do 13:30
-
Saruni where's he been?
-
Murphy in the 800 here and then in the 1500m at Monaco. I think Murphy has raced every DL + Payton + Oxy. I'm surprised Salazar has him racing this much. It's like the more Bowerman TC rest their athletes, the more frequently NOP runs their athletes.
Speaking of, Berega has ran a TON so far this year. I'll be surprised in he's not burnt out by the end of the year unless he takes down time the rest of July and August. -

Only five hours or so away -

Are you serious? He is a 59:13 half marathoner / 27:44 10k guy. He already ran 13:20 a month ago, without focusing on the distance.
I'd say he has potential to do 13:15 in a fast race. -
Letsrun preview?

My stats friend, Peter Matthews rated last season 5000 best performers as: barega, balew, chelimo, edris, gebrhiwet, and hadis. This year started in Shanghai with Kejelcha [not here] over barega and gebrhiwet. chelimo disappointed there. Roma saw Bekele rise to the top over barega and gebrhiwet. three days later in the Netherlands bekele beat a different crew of kimeli and berihu. last sunday over 2 miles there was a classic battle between cheptegei, barega, and chelimo. i'd say here in Switzerland, barega wins over bekele and cheptegei with balew and gebrhiwet next. -
the 1500 looks like Cheruiyot, Soulieman, jakob I., v.kibet, and birgen could be the top 5.
