You have a point but its poor strategy to try and get elected president running on an unpopular idea.

Julian Castro is one of my top 3 picks. If it wasn't for the biased media polling, he'd still be in the debates.

You bring up a good point on the polls. How do you think they should be done so they aren't bias? Serious question. I have been thinking about this.
#1- Polling should not be influenced the corporate media;
#2- There should not be preference to polling of early states / polling in all states should be equal;
#3- All polls should meet scientific criteria guidelines, and done by credible unbiased and experienced polling companies;
#4- Weekly polls by only one or two sources should be enough, without scattering the polls to different sources;
#5- Unless and until credible polls can be established, eliminate the polling requirements to qualify for debates.
#6- Eliminate the possibility of rich people buying their way into supporting and/or being a candidate.

But which sources would everyone agree on being unbiased? That's where i see the dilemma.
Running on an unpopular idea?
Medicare for All has at least some level of support from 70% of the public.
I agree that it won’t pass in a four year window, but it is not unpopular.
Just like expanded background checks have 90% support but has no chance of passing.
She’s trying to get elected on a very popular idea.
You may not favor the idea, but most do.
It’s how you frame it.
Wouldn’t you like to not be tethered to your employer for your health insurance and have an affordable plan that you keep forever and stays the same from job to job?
I totally understand your view and also may favor Booker over Warren for practical reasons.
But I like what Warren wants to do and think it’s the direction the nation will eventually go.
People have to pulled to progress sometimes.

I completely agree.
Instead of polls, maybe some other pre-primary type of thing - like miniature mail-in primaries.
The "# of donors" is a good criteria, but it leaves out people who have no money to spare to donate.
This would be a good topic for discussion to come up with prospective solutions.

True - but she does NOT support Medicare for All, and never has supported it. Her latest proposal, which keeps changing, is to keep private insurance with the "buy in to Medicare if you want it" option, the same as Biden and Buttyiup - a plan that is destined to FAILURE, because the private insurance companies, as long as they maintain their greedy power base would never allow Medicare for All to take off.
Bernie's approach is the best, Medicare for All, period, and have private insurance "if you want it."

Ummm, when is Amazon HQ opening up in LIC? I forget.
The first two debates, Sanders & Warren were like Butch Cassidy & Sundance Kid. The two of them were holding strong together stating Medicare for All, immediately. Buttigieg with no detailed health care plan of his own scared Warren. Warren shaking in her knees after Biden & Buttigieg attacked her regarding healthcare plan. It showed weakness. Do you all know Warren used to be a Republican. Did someone say something to her in the 1970s which scared Warren? I like that Sanders is not changing on healthcare.
O B A M A knows how to get himself elected. He actually does not have a good track record of supporting candidates and getting Democrats elected. O B A M A was having secret meeting with O'Rourke early in 2019. He thought O'Rourke was going to be the man. O B A M A thought Too Tired Hillary was going to beat T R U M P. [Her alcohol use wore her out on campaign trail. She really did not want the job enough. She let Fat T R U M P outwork her on campaign trail.]
O B A M A encouraged his limousine liberal buddy from Bain Capital to run for prez. Behind the scene, O B A M A is telling others he will campaign against Sanders if Sanders appears he will win.
Someone needs to send O B A M A on a one way trip to Fiji or somewhere far away.

This is why Bloomberg and Patrick jumped in.

Bloomberg should wipe the floor with the bunch losers and light weights that have been running so far.
Just pick a token black or woman as a VP and go for it.
Please edit the thread title. It is “Democratic Presidential Debate...”
This is both a incorrect use of the English language, and a misuse of the party name. A relatively new, Fox News inspired, trend is to call it the Democrat Party. This is intended to disassociate the Democratic Party with democracy, and subtly insult 50% of the population. If MSNBC referred to the Republican’t Party, I’d say, “It’s the Republican Party.” We need to regain some decency in my opinion.
