He's 31 seconds ahead of 2nd
American commentators are f***in' useless. Culpepper & Shorter seemed to have no idea that the women's winner they were referring to as Yimer is far better known as Hiwot Ayalew, a very well-known distance runner.

Shocking.
Bemusing moment when Reed Fischer celebrated finishing as 3rd American before the finish line and got out kicked. High School level mistake.

very low arm form Japanese freaking me right the hell out (but they are fast)
Good lord, i know!
How in the world do you get someone to run like that?
Do you raise them in a cage? Give them an electric shock if they move their arms in a humanlike way?
Like, prisca jeptoo’s form made me cry in years past, but now this?!

Good races today!
Also, is this a thing? What did she wear at Rotterdam? It could be preference but I'd be interested if she actually makes a conscious choice to not wear anything like the 4%. Feel like, in a race like this, you don't want to think what if I was wearing different shoes.
It was cloudy and cool...so why are the US men the only guys wearing sunglasses in the elite race? Look like a bunch of tools. Also Shorter, please learn a little about LA production and utilization before speaking about it as an announcer.
Wondering why no one has mentioned that the women's leader was mistakenly directed off the course about 200 meters from the finish?! Hate seeing this happen at elite events. She was redirected and managed to get 2nd but am assuming it cost her not just the prestige, but a lot of $$.

I thought Frank did fine. And calling out our guys for wearing sunglasses?? Sounds like you're the tool.
How do you view overall race results? The race site has a searchable database.

Awkward, but i know you can also see the pro race results (not just the “citizens race”) if you download their app.
Click on “leaders” at bottom of app.
98% of the runners in the BB don’t give a s#it about the pro race. Don’t know who the runners are and don’t care.

You don’t really understand how light waves work, do you?

10,000-15,000 in the stands, another 5000 out on the course. I watched the video. It was cool out and I for one got chilled and wasn't going to sit around for 4 hours to watch the pro race. On an warmer day you'll see a lot more in the stands for the ceremonies and pro races.

Other athletes wore sunglasses not just the American men. Citizen's race starts before 7 and I wore sunglasses to the very end. You wear sunglasses even on cloudy days in Colorado because of the altitude and high solar radiation.

This is not true. The stadium was packed for the pro race with mostly runners who had run the citizens race.
So the press truck pulled off the course before entering the stadium and all the photographers sprinted down into the stadium on the course ahead of the lead women. They turned right towards the finish so they could catch the winners crossing the line. It seemed as if Tola was just following them.
It was funny to see Fischer getting passed as he was celebrating his 15th place finish.

I was there and have been there many times. People are in the stadium to talk and relax after the race. The elite race is a curiosity and it's fun to see the elite come in, but they don't give a s#it, know the names or care beyond "hey, cool, those guys are fast".

right now in the "citizen race" Ian Butler is putting on a hell of a show
His running form is painful to watch.
He went out with the leaders at the above race just a few weeks ago and faded hard. Dude was about to collapse at mile 3.

Agreed.
Typical douch-baggery exhibited by wannabe beverwas on LED.
Sunglasses in the rain in Colorado??
Like they say Here, if you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes.
Dou-chay
Yep, poll everyone as they leave the stadium after the post-race flyovers, skydiving, and military pageant and I guarantee less than 5% (maybe less than 1%) could name who won the pro races. Hell, less than 25% could tell you who were the top American man and woman. About as many would recognize Alan Culpepper if his name weren't on the screen. Far more could tell you that Mike Nelson hosted.
10 or 20 years ago they had press releases, articles in the paper, printed programs that you could pick up at the venue so you had a better idea of who you were watching. People would know a Deena Kastor, Kara Goucher, Ryan Hall, or a Meb. And even more recently they (the crowds) particularly like the local runners. Like when Natosha Rogers placed top 3 and Scott Fauble has been in the top 5. They go nuts when someone like that is in the mix. And one thing that has changed is that Bolder Boulder of the past was kind of a name-maker race. Arturo Barrios, Rosa Mota, and the like were household names at least among runners in the state.
Was anyone in the men's and women's race an Olympian? Or podium finisher at a World Marathon Major? That will get some more attention.
