It’s just wrong.
It’s just wrong.
Correct. Do not confuse this holiday with Veteran’s Day.
Many people have lost loved ones that fought for our freedom.
????????

You don’t think the people who gave their lives for our freedom want us to be happy?

US, yes.
The day, no.

Interesting. Pretty much everyone I've known who has been facing imminent death has requested that their funeral be a happy day to celebrate their life rather than a day of mourning and sadness. I approach Memorial Day the same way: as a day to celebrate the lives of those who sacrificed for us. If I lost my life for a cause, I like to think that people would have a joyous celebration rather than a day of sadness.
But to each his own. I hope that your Memorial Day is either happy or miserable, whichever you prefer.
Should I tell veterans "thank you for your service" tomorrow? It's become a big USA military celebration in my town.

You should tell them “thank you” every day.
As a vet No. we have our own day.
Do something to honor the ones who died.

And no, the US war dead weren't defending that right. They died to further the global conquests of the ruling class.

Most of them died fighting to make the world safe for Communism, to end slavery, to preserve slavery, and to get Europe an armistice for 20 years, in descending order.

Veterans want you to say: “Thank you for serving when I did not” or possibly “Thank you for killing for me”.
Your line is cliche and meaningless.

Ok. “Thank you for taking my tax dollars and wasting it on killing innocent people in lands we have no business being in.”
Memorial Day is the day we celebrate (and memorialize) those who have died serving in the military.
Veteran’s Day is the day we celebrate (and say thanks to) those who previously served in the military.
Armed Forces Day is the day we celebrate (and thank) those who are currently serving in the military.

Who says happy Memorial Day?
Americans just drink themselves to death and it’s typically considered the start of summer. Though this year seems like the summer is a few weeks away.

They want you to be happy, but not about their deaths.

Do we really need 3 military days in America? Seems excessive. In Germany they combine the 3 into one day.
But ya, murica! Pro military and tanks and blowing stuff up.
Say "Happy Decoration Day"
That's what it used to be.
