Anybody outside of Brockport interested in their coaching situation? How about we talk about some contenders...

If they're smart that try to get one of these three:
Seth Jackson - Region Alum, former SLU assistant, now a head coach in New England for a team without track
Mike Haymann - Region Alum and multiple time AA, assistant at Naz now
Ben Jackson - Hamilton Assistant, was a very good high school coach recently, too
The last two have ties to John Lynch from his days at Platt. They'll know how to turn a SUNYAC program around.

If theyre smart they will stay away. The position is cursed.
1. RPI
2. Geneseo
3. UR (in 2-3 years)
4. Bport (1-2 years ago)
5. Oneonta (2-3 years ago)
6. RIT (never?)

Well this list is just pointless.
It won't be any of these - they're all relatively good coaches who would want a reasonable compensation. It'll either be a) someone you've never heard of or b) a less well established coach from another program that has some name recognition looking to improve resume for 1-2 years b4 leaving. Either way the problem is institutional at this point. Easy to say eh, they got unlucky with 3 coaches in a row sleeping with athletes, its the suny way. Now though they actually had a coach doing a good job not sleeping with anyone and still got rid of her. Then split the position and are offering less now to a new head XC. Problem is top down.

Who were the three in a row. Only ones I know of sleeping with athletes were Jaskulski who was dating an athlete on team during indoor season, last time he served as head coach, and now named again, and Manktelow. Who is the third? They have huge problems with adminstration, when I was on team Hart could care less about us.
Not always SUNY in Brockport. wrote:

Why are we spending all this time talking about a team who isn't gonna have a single runner break into the top 7 of RPI or Geneseo?
RPI isn’t that good this year, and I’ve heard many of their returners have been injured at the end of spring or during this summer. Looks like it will be a less than full strength squad. Geneseo gets my vote for the W and I’ll even throw in the guess that Ithaca or RIT win the Liberty League.
What about summer races. Did people race on the forth? Boilermaker just happened which always has Atlantic region crews. Lets stop talking about a team's coaching situation that has never and will never be relevant.
Did an age group search for 15-19 and 20-24. Deleted those under 17 and over 22 and deleted any pros then searched tfrrs deleted D1 runners and there were a few d3 Mideast guys. Don’t know who has eligibility left of the 21/22 year olds but here it is:
RPI Brandon Marks 19 52:21 5:37
RIT Kyle Higby 19 53:06 5:42
St John Fisher Andy Ford 19 53:47 5:47
RPI Sean O'Connor 22 48:16 5:11
RIT Evan Feigel 21 50:03 5:23
Ithaca Forest Stewart 21 51:27 5:32
TCNJ Pelle Nogueira 20 51:34 5:32
RIT Andrew Chabot 20 52:05 5:36
RIT wins the day! Also nice run by Nogueira of TCNJ.
Hi everyone, Steve Buscemi here. Turns out i'm a big fan of the DIII Atlantic Region.
Agreeing with the consensus, right now RPI and Geneseo look to be the favorites. Sean McAneny is my favorite to win the region individually but Noah Falasco and Henry Jaques shouldn't be that far behind. On paper RPI is a deeper team and should win the region again this year. Even so Geneseo has a history of showing up and running well at the big races, so It wouldn't suprise me if they won either.
The interesting question is how the rest of the region will play out this year. RIT and Oneonta lose key runners from last year which leaves the region wide open. RIT might be too devestated to run a team this fall after their dead last finish at Nationals. On paper, I see teams like SLU and Brockport as leaders in this chase pack for the at-large bids. Running on their home course might make the difference for SLU. Thats only if they can find a reliable 4-5 and their top runners return to form after a poor track season. Brockport has the talent to really suprise people this season. However, not having a coach is never a good sign, and they might never get over that hump to make it to nationals.
My sleeper pick for this year is TCNJ. They have a strong young core and are coming off upsetting Rowan at NJACs in cross country. If their young team progresses well they will be a force to be reckoned with. All this being said, here are my own rankings.
1) RPI
2) Geneseo
3) Brockport
4) TCNJ
-------------------
5) SLU
6) RIT
7) Rowan
8) Oneonta
9) Ithaca
10) Rochester
Evan Feigel will be returning to RIT this fall to finish off his eligibility.
Mitch Ryan will as well be returning to Potsdam to finish his eligibility.
Just got word from a few sources that Matt Giannino will be returning to RIT this fall to finish off his eligibility.
Just in , hot from the press Pete Todd come out of retirement and will finish his eligibility at RIT
I remember a time when you children were in middle school and this thread would consist of actual analysis and predictions instead of 20 pages of trolling
You want some analysis? Sounds pretty lame but here we go:
1. RPI
-Tech school in a sad city, JPDs will be running high due to the lack of females and the desire to be compared to the departed O'Connor twins will help this team rise to the top.
2. Geneseo
-The Harvard of the SUNYACs will continue their Nationals streak and will disappoint once again in front of their mass of teammates, making them wonder why they drove for 20 hours to get sloshed at 10am and watch their team bomb yet again. The post race party should still be good though
3. RIT
-Even more JPDs than RPI, andEvan Feigel and Otto Kingstedt are apparently both returning. They should have a mediocre season with one conveniently placed good race, making the region orange with envy
4. TCNJ
-New Jersey schools suck, but they have to go to regionals at some point right?
5. Ithaca
-Return most everyone from last year, probably miss Natties by a bit but their other sports are better anyways
6. SLU
-Committee might send them anyways, but this program is on the decline unless they get a bunch of good freshmen this year
7. UofR
-In two years they'll be better, trust me
8. Oneonta
-I think they are good, don't really know where Oneonta is and not sure if they do either
9. Vassar
-Just picking names out of a hat at this point

Neither Feigel or Kingstedt are returning. Out of eligibility.
Bailey and Pelzar are returning to RIT this fall as well
