What bothers me about Haile's response is that 5 of his employees were arrested and held for two weeks for nothing. That may be a point against Mo but it's not a point in Haile's own favor, or his hotel's. I'll remember how civil rights work in Ethiopia if I ever consider visiting.
Mo Farah says someone stole from while he was at Haile's G hotel - Haile says Farah was reported for "attacking married athlete"

I noticed this too. Is it supposed to add credibility to Haile? I suppose, but in the process it makes Ethiopia seem like a place where a lack of status means lack of legal due process.
In fact, I know us Americans complain about our legal system, but how many societies in history can the richest man have his d*** pics leaked and be blackmailed and the perpetrators don't fear for their lives at all? Was thinking about this on my run yesterday. -
Come on, are y'all buying into this? This is clearly some made up WWE like drama to build up the London marathon.

If my hotel gets robbed in Las Vegas they aren't going to compensate me, I'm not sure why Mo would expect a hotel in Ethiopia to be any different.
I can't speak for Mo about his expectations. But I certainly wouldn't expect a hotel in Ethiopia to be protected by the Nevada statute that -- contrary to the common law and statutes in states that are not run by the hotel and casino industry -- generally grants immunity to Las Vegas hotels against claims of property theft in guest rooms, at least where an adequate safe or vault is provided and the hotel is not grossly negligent. And regardless of the governing law, I would expect a hotel owned by Haile to be very accommodating to Mo. So I'm guessing that this dispute was about much more than $3,000 and a watch. And I suspect that Mo's decision to elevate the matter isn't going to play out well for him.

I agree. (This was a rare opportuity to agree with Bad Wigins, so I wanted to take advantage of it. :) ) -

Why did Mo have $3,000 in cash in his hotel room? Do they not have banks?
Eh, why do you think? Can't leave a trail. Hoping someone hacks those cell phones. -
He's only in Epopia so he can dope without repercussions. F this guy.

They took out the word "married" because in Western culture it makes no difference on the severity of the assault whether a woman is married or not.
I think wifey Tania kitten is going to have a few words to say hubby Mo and he's going to need more than lawyers and weak body guards to protect him.
This is just a slight taste of what's coming:

But Haile said the word, and they’re quoting him directly. Also, the word isn’t irrelevant: It makes it clear that the attack was sexual, and not a gym fight between two high-strung athletes. 🤔
Aaaaand, like my other posts on this thread, this will be deleted in 5,4,3,2,1 ... -

He came across as someone who's lost the plot. -
I'm convinced he's drunk or under the influence of something. This is 3 days before his biggest marathon ever- one that he's trained for 3 months for away from his family. I can't believe what I'm seeing.

Check out Kipchoge when Mo starts ranting. He’s like kinda laughing at Mo. you can tell he thinking Mo is a fool.

At the hotel one can take a full body massage with a physiotherapist for about 8 dollars; It was one of the best ones I've ever had. You can also get pace makers for your your workouts ie. runners who live across the street - they live so cheap yet they are amazing people who dont even realise how good they are. These are 63/64 min half marathoners who didn't make it and get underpaid to pace guests in their training sessions.
.
Great post.
How much does it cost to have a pacer for the workout? -

Did anyone else pick up on the vid of mo fabricating the thing about why he was screaming at the motorcycle driver? He says it was about his bottle getting mixed up...not about being mad at the volunteer taking a selfie/pic of him. Maybe there were two different incidents? -

Reviews online from others mention theft in the hotel by staff members, same with Bekeles hotel. I believe Mo on this.
I agree, I’m #teammo as well. Looks like Halle is trying to cover himself here.
I'm not so sure. The fact that Jonathan Gault and all of these journalists thought it was very weird how Mo pre-empttively came out with all of this makes me wonder all about this.
But I dont see it as either or. Both could be telling the truth.
But so far I'm not really on Mo's side here as his text to Haile was BS and blackmail. Where does I'm not responsible for what I say to the press come from? Yes, you are responsible with what you said to the press.
I want more info on the "married athlete" comment and I want a timeline. Which events happened first? -

There’s an air of ‘I’ll destroy you and your business in the U.K.’ in the way he brought that up. This is no small time grudge. -

My comment was mainly in jest to join in on the drama. I agree with you that both could be telling the truth. Out of context, it seems like Mo wanted to be the first to talk about the incident so his spin gets out first. I'm not sure though.
