63:01 at Cherry Blossom. Very good race, but 2 measly seconds from being a great race. And in answer to the obvious question, I don't think checking splits on my watch would have gotten me those extra two seconds. I left it all out there today.
I did get a bit caught up in congestion in the beginning, and also overdid my hammering up the final (and only) hill and tied up on the backside - I think one or both of those cost me the sub-63. Hopefully I'll get it at Broad Street next month.
According to the race results, that was a 83.52 AG time, so at least I jump up the leaderboard slightly. I turn 45 next month, so if I can just keep my speed for another month, I should be able to up the AG-ing some more. (Broad Street, alas, is a few days BEFORE I turn 45).
As sub-6:00 noted - it was a really great day to race. We lucked out.
Splits (via Strava) were 6:25/6:20/6:13/6:19/6:19/6:19/6:18/6:19/6:17/6:01. So hammered at the end, but just needed that bit extra.
