I think you might have become mesmerized by Frank’s handsome face, his sharp outfits and his choice of urban transit.
You’re taking this personally. But it’s just business.

Why is this poster being so strange and vague?
I am not sure but you will realize that some runners missed "some" timing mats. Perhaps the poster would like to show this. Anyway, I can't see any "familiar" name.

Derek,
Next time use a laptop or at least set your phone on a stable surface. Buy a cell phone tripod or other device to prop your phone up.
I got a call while at the office. I could not record in the office. They had planned to send a crew here locally but chose not to. I did not wake up thinking I would be recording for national TV.
I don't get it. Is he cheating everywhere *except* Pike's? How do you cheat that course?

To be honest, you haven't really added much to other stories. Maybe time to pass the torch to another poster who did a lot of work on this thread.
Derek is the marathon sheriff. He's the one with the guts to put his name and face out there with every cheat. Even when someone else does the heavy listing Derek is going to be the guy the media turn to for an expert opinion. He's earned it.
I think he's a little bit nuts, but his blog is a guilty pleasure of mine.

Keep up to the good work Derek! There are many on here who appreciate what you do and don’t need the recognition.
I’m certain he cheated at Pikes Peak because if he didn’t then he would have no trouble running sub 3 marathons.

I couldn't find any photos of his races at Pike's Peak. Did anyone find any?

Thanks. Did Inside Edition Interview from home today. Should be much better.
I haven't caught up on the aspect of the debate regarding who knew/who helped.
My two cents.....going with the "common sense" theme started above:
At least 5 people very close to Frank knew about how he does it including knowledge of the use of Bikes or multiple bikes and any other alternate ways he may have used to get between mats. I wouldn't mind guessing that this number could go to 10 people or more. Frank could only lie about taking a bike to an out of town or in town marathon so many times. I believe several in this group besides keeping him company while he cheated with their knowledge, materially helped him cheat, ( not positive or course but that's what it looks like so far)
Secondly, The school coaches who were probably in the 5 or 10 mentioned above who had first hand experience, definitely would have concluded he cheats and some shilled for him knowing that he's a cheater who brags about and exploits social capital garnered from his fake accomplishments. There are many many people in this category, maybe some of them didn't shill too much, but they knew and kept the secret for personal comfort and to protect Frank if nothing else.
Finally , many people just knew but maybe blew it off laughing , or you know, if you don't have something nice to say don't say anything. Maybe some fear of rocking the boat, that could be Loyola Runners, competitors, co-workers etc.
There are hundreds of people like this.
Anyway to me that all stands to reason based on inference from how the story and bust unfolded here on LRC and on MI . I still want to know why the closer group, adults, took the cover-up and or hyping Frank approaches that they did.
Was the big news the "Frank on the Bike" photo? Or did Deadesq find discover something else that Doubler is still hasn't released?
Is Frank waterproof? My hair is usually wet after exiting the water.
Yes, you are reasonably close to all this. So you can leave me out of it, or...

Personally, I think it takes guts to be so vocal and transparent. I’d be afraid what some of these exposed cheaters might do. Thankfully almost all of them skulk back into obscurity.
But Derek has brass balls and I commend him for that.

There seems to be another determined attempt by trolls, sockpuppets and presumed Frank supporters to derail the thread. I think you are about 250 pages too late to be effective.
Another stellar addition to this thread.

Honestly, that was poorly setup. Got a call while at work and it was rushed. Had no option but to do it on my phone while holding it.
In that case it doesn't sound like there's much you could have done under the circumstances. Thanks for running with this story!

Obviously Derek has contributed greatly to this story, but I don't completely disagree that a different representative might be better for a future TV story. For instance compare how Derek and Jose Zavala come off in this story:
https://abc7.com/sports/70-year-old-record-setter-disqualified-from-la-marathon/5376169/Obviously the facts are 100% behind Derek but Zavala comes across much more professionally.
I’m glad Derek stepped up and did so much work to uncover this fraud. It’s very important in this world that people take proper credit for the things that they do.
Oh wait a minute...
Get a flocking life. He gives credit where it's due. You must be an outed cheater. Not using the @$$#01& word, but if the sarcasm fits... .

Additionally, he's got the tact and savvy to deal with the media, the concept of which some posters seem not to grasp.
Is it possible to cheat Pike's Peak without a partner in crime?
