Th LA Times story looks o.k. to me. Wharton can't force Frank to admit it and for whatever reason he is not making an outright accusation himself at this time.
He makes it clear that while these allegations might be hard for some to believe it happens pretty often.
It showed that Doubler is smart, and has been right before, is respected by race directors.
Shows that Frank got caught before and didn't fight it. That he has been disqualified before and likely will be again. Frank looks like he's bad at making excuses and he has gotten caught with his hand in the cookie jar.
Diaz is easy for the reader to think of as biased and either dishonest or not too smart...especially since the other runner declined to comment.
Wharton could have pointed out that even a much younger man with those Moobs couldn't run that time, and many on LR still wouldn't be happy. It's true many people who post here probably are entrenched in bitterness and unhappiness.
It's the reporters job to paint the picture.
All in all, it's all there to see , except for an bold font accusation, or an admission.
