Where were all of the former Mid American Conference runners at the US championships? I know that there were a few that should have been there:
Jordan Desilets
Ben Reese (is he still running?)
Casey Batey
Jeff Delong
Etc.
Whatever happened to James Kneeland (think he ran 1:48-1:49 indoors)?
I know Batey ran at indoor nats and did okay in the 1500
Jeff Delong was promoted to Head Cross and track coach at Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri. I know this because he recruited me this last year out of a community college. I have turned it down because, while he is a very intelligent track guru, he's not cut out to be a head coach...comparing one recruit to another when talking money and why you should or shouldn't get what your offered. Messed up stuff...its not possible to ever compare to athletes directly...indirectly (thats life its gonna happen) maybe. But from the many times I talked to him. He's done with the Nike Farm Team and him and his wife Sarah (formerly Hamilton) are going to head off into the coaching sunset until they are tired of that too. I like the guy tons, just was very disrespected with the comparisons. Hope that helps...Good Luck Bearcats of SBU.

I ran at Miami back when they were the redskins. I sucked but I ran there! Anyone know what Zody is doing these days? Or any of the other Miami guys, Halabrine (sp?), Carlton, Jackson? mid 80's
by miami guys I was mainly talking about Ziegler, Claunch, Godsey, etc.
Also, don't know if he was American, but what about Blake McDowell????
Not sure where Claunch went...I know Godsey was doing a stint of backwards running and has (or had, not sure if they got broke) 2 world records for backwards running in the 800 and 3000.
Brian Godsey is still in Oxford finishing up a master degree in Economics I think, Very intelligent guy. He is still fit and running strong. Jerry Claunch has started a website running2win. Not sure about the others.
