And stuff Nobby has writtten on here, such as one can find on older threads on here. For example, as can be found in this thread:

Side note: Nobby writings on here should be compiled into a single document. So many gems within them.
Back to my main question, how would one organize a Japanese inspired training? My main ideas right now:
Emphasize on high volume at a low intensity. That is jogging 2-3 times a day, for 2+ hours a day. And, even doing walks.
Main workouts will be stuff like 10-15 kilometer tempo runs, longer reps like, 10-20 x 1k, 5-10 x 2k, 3-6 x 3k, 3-5 x 4k, and 2-3 x 5k(recovery will depend of the phase of training one is in.). And, longer tempos, like 20-40 kilometers at 85-95% of marathon pace and 2-3 x 10k and 4-6 x 5k.
Occasionally do ultra long runs and long hikes in the mountains.
Occasionally do back to back workouts and long tempo runs.
Race the 10k and half marathons often.
Instead of basing it on a weekly schedule. Base it off of time to recover from workouts. So, instead of doing a workout because it is Tuesday and doing a long because it is Sunday. Do it base off of previous workouts, and how one has recovered. That is a cycle of: long run, easy recovery days until one has recovered from previous workout, longer intervals, easy recovery days until one has recovered from the previous workout, longer tempo, repeat and so on and so forth.
Thoughts?
