point well taken. my only arguement to that would be that it may be possible to draw a line between "given" or "booster" money, and money won in a legitimate competition. obivously that is a hard line to draw.

They also are afraid that sponsors would eat up the field. If Nike came in and gave all the VIC runners who were worth it, shoes and gear, etc. Everyone would feel cheated and that VIC was better off then them. They think that the money people would win in a race would make them harder to beat next time, b/c they think they can go and by more gear and things needed to be better.
Noticed that the only absentee from VIC was Cheromei at their little opening relays meet in Charlotte. Seems that Scott Simmons is doing the smart thing and not running him
well just my one cent wrote:
dont worry about cheromie, bec. he is not going to be competing for vic this year. So this means that it's any one's victory this year if soimo is not coming back and if he is then he is going to win easly.
That was already established.
I know It was mentioned before but there was cheromie included in that one too. and some one said soimo is going to go untouched. well now I was all saying was that now he doesnt have to worry about cheromie bec. Vic has released that cheromie is not running for the team this year.
hey I saw Today the results and saw soimo running for Lindenwood. I heard someone saying after outdoor nats that he wasnt coming back. Well he ran pretty good time and won by about 30 sec. if I am right. He looks in pretty good shape, Lets see How the VIC boys are doing? Does anyone know when Vic is running the next time? I want to know How the do and if they have any chance of winning the individual title as well as team title. I am big fan of them and would like to see them win individual and team title. But as for now Soimo seem to me the one for individual title.
Those results of the CMSU Mule Run meet Soimo and Lindenwood where at:

Interesting team results including the Mid America team.
the first one is soimo who won the race and he is running for lindenwood. Look at the results carefully then you will find where soimo is.
Soimo looked nice and relaxed and then just gradually pulled away, probably a good training run for him.
Black hills has some talent... the stand out kinzley will show his stuff... if his legs stay healthy, they have some speed and i would not be surprised to see some good placement from them
black hills... never given credit buy the raters, yet to runner-up finishes. i'd bet on them more than i would almost anyone else
I used to give black hills mad props (2000-2003). Also remember that the two runner up finishes were also when Newell was on the team (also Marney, Daniels, and Bishop). But recently what have they done. Seriously, 17th at nationals last year and absolutely nothing during indoor or outdoor. One guy (Kintzly), at indoor nationals, and nothing in the 800, 1500, steeple, 5k, or 10k at all at outdoor nationals. Two guys in the marathon at nationals, but nothing good. I just don't see where you guys see them coming through. I always cheer for them and hope the best as they are in my conference, but I just don't see it right now. Other than their number one guy (who is questionable with numerous injuries), what do they have.
Watch out for Malone. They have 15 guys who ran 9:45 (hs 3200) or better.
to bad they only score the top five :)
What are Malones top guys like. Im calling you out on this one. I highly doubt they had 15 @ 9.45 or better. Names and exact times please.
I am the assistant coach at Shawnee State University and we are ranked 22nd in the nation at the moment and we also run in the same conference as Malone and I will be the first to give props to Malone even though they beat us for the conference meet every single year. They have a 4:14 miler , he did this his senior of high school and also the state champ in d2 and he ran 9:22 and this is on top of all the horse they have... I would not doubt they have 15 sub 9:45 two milers.
Here is a website of Virginia Intermont cross Country and track. So everyone could know who is running and who is not.
Yes, according to that Cheromei, Cabada, and Duquette are still running. On that note, anyone know the whole story on Cheromei? Is he done for good or just the fall?
if you are not dumb then you should have read one or two pages of this. there is everything mentioned aboout him and what he did. well I think he is just out for this year. He will be back next year and stronger than ever, to destroy the NAIA once and for all. Well I knew him at butler and have been talking to him lately so that's why I know how his training is going. I am telling you guys this bec. some people say that, "this guy is just bullshitting it and has no idea what's he talking about."
If he took money he cant run at any college in the US again.
