The air we breathe is 21% oxygen. Humans exhale 16% oxygen. The human body’s carrying capacity for oxygen is LESS than what your body inhales. Your blood can’t transfer as much oxygen as you breathe in.
Training for running is training to raise the blood’s carrying capacity, not your lungs’ ability to inhale.
