I believe he is just running a half-marathon. You make it sound kind of sinister.
The reason LA is a pariah is because 1) he's been a major jerk and 2) he’s American. The great Miguel Indurain was a doper his whole career, and he is still revered.

C'mon man...what do you have on Big Mig? He's never admitted to any doping that I'm aware of. None of his teammates or coaches have come forward and accused the big Spanaird of doping. You've got nothing on Big Mig! Quit trying to categorize him with Pharmstrong! Pharmstrong was a disgrace to professional cycling! Can't stand the chump!

That's funny Aragon! ? When did you develope your new sense of humor? You used to be a fuddy duddy like that rekrunner fellow.
I am dead serious, that is Lance Armstrong, the man.
Just think about how terrible it has been for him knowing all the tricks of the "book of cheating" and not being able to apply them except only in non-sports related activities. If I am not mistaken, there was a Yelp-review (?) in which he was totally 100 % angry when his pizza was delivered by a hatchbackwoman instead of a motoman as he had specifically instructed and emphasized the latter when making the order. "Which part of the term motoman do they not understand?"
Then he habitually has these "let's pretend we are not here" - moments when he is lying on his stomach when someone rings the doorbell only to find his wife Anna saying him that "It's the Fedex-delivery guy, and please Lance, could you stop calling me Kristin!?".
There are also rumours that he is still diluting his blood before his blood is tested by his doc and he has on some occasions bragged about how idiot his physicist is because the guy thinks that Armstrong's Hct is 3-4 lower than what it really is. "Einhorn had enough brains to cure my cancer, but how come this guy didn't even notice the needle mark, where does the hospital get these guys?"
I definitely do hope the guy finds meaning in his life, but I wouldn't trust him to race clean. If anything, he is already thinking about made-up diseases to have his habitual TUE forms filled.
"Anna, does it look suspicious if a runner takes three transfusions for saddle soreness?“.
"Hein doesn't save you this time, honey, if something goes wrong."
"How come?"
"A - it is a different sport, B - he has been dead for a year or two"
"OK, well argued. Let's make it only two bags then."

He's the greatest Grand Tour rider in history. Everyone else doped too. He won. Get over it.
You miss the topic. I have only a few doubts that at the age of 47 he will reach a level as a runner that he had in 2007. But it looks like that I have to correct myself. I overlooked that in 2012, when he finished the Ironman 70.3 in Florida in 3:45, he ran during this race the half marathon in a high 1:15. We will see.
Still great satire there Aragon (I read your more serious post about him on "The Clinic" the other day).
Last month LA gave an interview to CNBC about his life since the confession...his first interview with mainstream media since then:

He's doing the half marathon tomorrow at Rock & Roll Arizona. Will he beat Allie Kieffer, if she runs it? I heard on a podcast his target is in the 1:16 range.
Excited to see Lance return to greatness!
He had his 15 minutes of fame and blew it, who cares what he does, he was a cheater, same as a guy running only 20 miles of a marathon and claiming his time was legit, this guy and many others all members of the pharmaceutical club. It has ruined running, cycling, etc........you dont know what is real anymore.
30 plus years and counting is not 15 minutes.
"The first rule of Fight Club is you do not talk about Fight Club. Modest and almost frustratingly quiet, Big Mig seemed to understand this mantra better than most cyclists of his era. Eternally suspected but free from a sanction or positive test — his Banesto team were clients of notorious Italian Dr. Francesco Conconi — Indurain climbed mountains with serial dopers who weighed 30 pounds less than him, and then smashed them in the the time trials, all while successfully floating above the fray with class and silence. After winning five consecutive Tours de France from 1991 to 1995, Indurain left the sport following the 1996 season, just two years before the Festina Affair changed the sport forever."
There's a reason "Big Mig" had a resting heart rate of reportedly 32 bpm...
It was actually reported at 28 bpm...
At 47, I'd be surprised if he breaks 1:25.
Come on. Indurain was dirty, Pantani was dirty, Ullrich was dirty, Riis was dirty, all the second-tier Americans were dirty, the whole peloton was on EPO at a minimum and many were on much more. They all discussed it openly (as a prior poster's article about Landis alluded to) and it's been well-documented. Some of today's best riders were busted a few years ago. I think there's a chance the sport is mostly clean now, but there's no doubt the era before Lance and his era were the dirtiest in history. And he won seven times in a row.

Dude, give it a rest. He will be clean.
He did what he did years ago to compete with the rest of the peloton, doesn't make it right, but in order to compete with them and beat them you have to do what they do and do it better. He has come clean on it and taken responsibility for it and has been open about it. Let it go.
I totally agree.
If you want to win the Tour, you'd better be on a level playing field. Otherwise, you are not winning the Tour.
Same with the Arnold Classic.
Or going for an Olympic gold metal in athletics.
He will pass the drug test.
I expect he'll run balls out...

Well....what do you have on Big Mig? He's never admitted to any doping that I'm aware of. None of his teammates or coaches have come forward and accused the big Spanaird of doping. He could be an outlier...it happens in sports from time to time. Bottom line here: If you've got some scoop on Big Mig lay your cards on the table, otherwise you're casting aspersions on one of the greatest cyclists of all time!

SO what? That doens't mean he would have won 7 times in a row if everyone was clean. People react diffently too drugs.
And, remember he did use the excuse that as a cancer survivor there is no way he'd dope.
The video the poster linked to his amazing. Even Lance gets it. In comparing himself to AROD , he said ARod dind't raise half a billion for charity.
Yes that's true but what Lance doesn't get is a) he didn't donate the money, the public did and b) it was all based on a lie.
He's a multi, multi, multi millionaire thanks to being a cheat. I don't have any sympathy. Please don't tell me if everyone was clean he'd still have won 7 in a row.
Looks like a DNS?
