Against. A $40bn wall can be defeated with a $500 ladder. Nonsense. It’s a vanity project and nothing more.

No.
Against. I want more latina cutie pies, not less.
Against; we need a government first.
Obviously for since three of my heroes - Hillary, Schumer, and Obama have recently been advocate of a border wall on the southern border.
Obviously a Russian.

It's all a smoke screen. $5B for a wall is actually to just to get it started. The cost over runs and and other "problems" will turn it into a $5T fiasco and take years to complete. Meanwhile, companies are setting up in and near national parks to start excavating and drilling. Why is it all of a sudden a national emergency when there was a republican congress and senate for Donnie's first two years and the subject hardly ever came up and when it did, nothing happened? Oh yea, there is a little investigation going on that is starting to come to a head.
FOR!!!

It makes no sense on many levels.
First of all, there is already a wall like structure there.
Second most illegals are overstaying their visas. Nothing that wall would change.
Third Asylum seekers are going to the port of entries. Even the highest wall would not change that either.
Even you would have a 500 ft wall it would not change the facts mentioned.
100% against. It's moronic.

The OP did not want reasons for people's opinions.
That's fine, people have different views on what they want.
My question, if the majority of Americans don't want this in the US budget and both houses of Congress passed a spending bill that did not have this, do you agree with the president's tactics of not signing anything unless this gets put in the budget and keep 1/4 of the government closed and hundreds of thousands of Americans from getting a paycheck?
I wanted the ACA to have a public option for health insurance.
Obama wanted one, too. I would have disagreed with him, however if he held the government hostage unless Congress added that.

true. the majority of americans dont want a wall. just in mexico alone most dont want one probably. there is only some support in one north american country calles the usa.
Against. This 30 ft wall is obviously not doing its job. What difference would it make if this wall was torn down and replaced with a 30 ft concrete wall?

Ha ha, seems like a long time ago!
Maybe you should take a poll and ask people that live within 200 miles of the border.

The ironic flaming racism of the Democrats.
Also ironic is this "waste of money" line. Even if it's coming from Republicans.
True. Why don't Democrats let him "waste" 5 billion so his 63 million supporters shut up already and the issue goes away? Seems like a good deal, but they won't do it because they hate Trump and reflexively oppose anything he does, even things they spoke in favor of 5 years ago.
So why didn't Trump get a bill with the wall funding passed in the 2 years he had control of Congress? There were several bills with bipartisan support that had his funding for the wall that be blew up. Trump has essentially squandered his first 2 years in office tweeting away and holding rallies with his base, while churning through dozens of cabinet members and top staff.

Blatant ploy to keep the Mueller investigation and sagging economy out of the news. Also, it is political malpractice on Trump to actually try to build the wall. The wall is a wedge issue. If you take decisive action on your big wedge issue, you lose the leverage during the next election cycle. The Democrats passed the Affordable Care Act in 2010 and had nothing to run on during the midterms. The result was a 64 seat drubbing in the House. If Trump gets his wall, he has nothing to go back to his base with to get them all lathered up in 2020.

This is how I feel. Also, I don’t believe it’ll do anything to slow down the influx of drugs through Mexico to the US.
I am a drug addict. I don’t use anymore, but trust me, I know the scourge of addiction and what it’s doing to our country and world. That being said, the only way to end the war on drugs to me is through decriminalization and eventually legalization. So much of the harm caused by drugs is because of the prohibition of them. Besides the fact that I don’t see how it’s morally acceptable to allow alcohol but ban other drugs, so much crime is linked to drugs (I don’t have the exact stats, but it’s a very high amount) because they’re a part of the black market and also because they’re very expensive because they’re on the black market. Overdoses happen 99% of the time because the users don’t know the exact quantities of the drugs they’re getting, which would disappear if they were legalized.
Anyways, just a small aspect of the wall, I know, but one I’m passionate about. Crime is down, like the person I quoted mentioned, so I have no clue why Trump would institute a federal emergency other than to just get a political victory, which really cheapens the idea of what emergency means to me.
